Overview

Kevin VanDam spent close to two years designing and testing the new Strike King KVD 200 Jerkbait before he got it just right. It’s unlike any jerkbait on the market with a wilder action than any other jerkbait he’s ever fished - and it flat gets bit. It has a really wide side-to-side travel on the jerk, and also has a lot of erratic wiggling and darting action. A weight transfer system means you can cast it a mile, and 3D eyes and incredible detailing only add to its appeal. It also features two super sharp treble hooks for maximum hooking potential. Available in a range of colors handpicked by KVD, rip the Strike King KVD 200 Jerkbait on slack line for maximum action - and watch out!

Comments: Caught several 4-7lb hybrid striped bass this 300 lure. They hit the shad color like a truck and I didn't lose any of em either. Great lure at a decent price.

From: Unknown: Atlanta Georgia 4/19/23

Comments: The 200 clear ayu model I bought sinks in 35-44F water. I did my standard ice water check and it sinks fast enough that is is not fixable. The 100 model looks good with the addition of a couple of strips of lead. It suspends nicely in 36F water. Very nice cheap JB and have caught several fish already on this model. Will try again with the 200 model.

From: Rich: Missouri 1/18/22

Comments: I have no idea why people don't like this jerkbait. I own over 20 between different colors and the deep model and they flat out catch fish. Chrome paint wears down quicker but I've caught well over a hundred fish on the bait ranging from 1 lb all the way to 5+ pounds. they aren't indestructible. if you're looking for a lure that'll last forever maybe bass fishing just isn't for you.

From: broox: california 1/3/22

Comments: This jerkbait has worked out very well for me this spring. It has a good erratic action on light and hard jerks, and have not had any issues with it rolling over at all. It also suspends in the water column great. No issues with it sinking, or floating. I've caught close to 50 fish on it so far this year, and the hooks are starting to get a little dull, so I recommend having replacement hooks ready to go. I live in West Michigan, and have had the most luck with the Clearwater minnow color. Perch pattern has also produced well for me too. For the price, you can't go wrong with these jerkbaits.

From: Don: Grand Rapids, MI 4/23/20

Comments: Great lure. Paint does not stand up compared to lucky craft or megabass, but then again, my favorite lucky crafts that catch the most fish are the ones that are all torn up. Shad in the late winter/early spring are not as healthy and do not look as flashy, which is probably why I have better luck with the old scuffed up lures. Go figure.

From: Jake: Willard, MO  2/17/19

Comments: Solid jerk bait but be weary of the paint job on the chrome ones they are cheap. A couple fish later the paint is peeling off. My advice is for a few extra dollar go for the lucky craft pointers for a higher quality product or for a budget friendly jerk bait Rapala's shadow rap works great.

From: Unknown: Ga 5/8/18

Comments: Favorite Jerkbait I've fished to this point. Caught dozens of Hybrids and Stripers my first trip out with the 300 size. Have caught dozens of bass on it a few trips later. So far loving the Pro Blue. Only gripe is because of the thick lip it takes a little stouter Jerkbait rod if you're like me and like ripping it on the retrieve.

From: John: Evans, GA 2/7/18

Comments: This is the greatest jerkbait ever created...period...If KVD throws it...you should throw it!!! I caught 50 fish on this bait in less than 1 hour in a single bay this past spring. AMAZING! Make sure if you fish in clear water lakes that you throw the "Clearwater Minnow" color. It is all you need up north when the jerkbait bite is on.

From: Luke - Minnesota, 12/14/17

Comments: For the people that say this bait floats are completely Ignorant. Water temperature, the size line, What size treble hooks, and What kind of line you use dictate of it floats, suspends, or sinks. I have taken several of these out of the packageand they suspend absolutely perfect. Iv taken them outOf the bag and they might float. But the water wasEither warmer or maybe I had in mono or something.Adjust your lure and tune it your the water temp and lineYou have on for that day. If you have a lure that
Suspends in the winter, it will float in the summer Because the water is warmer. These cast great and I believe they outfish a mega bass or rick clunn. Do your homework and tune your bait. If you've ever pulled out a bait from it's original package and it floated. It's because you got lucky and all the conditions were right.
Kvd wouldn't use them if they sucked lol.

Comments: I've been fishing the chrome Ayu (on sunny days in stained water) for a few trips now and I've had no problems with catching fish. Nothing on the lure has broken off yet either. With any hard plastic lure, repeatedly hitting harder objects will eventually break the bait. If the $10 dollar price tag is an issues then look into the cheaper baits, possibly increase your income, or buy zooms' soft jerkbaits (which wins tournaments from coast to coast.) I have many different manufacturers lures and they all have similar actions the differences are; components, materials, details, and finishes. I personally think more about color, size, time of day, weather, and most of all my eyes on what lure to choose. I remember catching bass on a hook and gum so don't think bass are some underwater masterminds that know your every move, they're fish and they're pretty dumb. When jerkbait fishing for bass pretended your playing with cat (one you can't see but you know it's there) and use your lure to tease the fish, they'll attack it. I hope this helps in your future fishing purchases!

From: Mike: Georgia 2/5/17

Comments: I get more enjoyment from this bait than any other bait in my tackle box, with the exception of a frog. This jerkbait moves so erratically the bass cannot stand it. I fish this bait all year long & catch fish. I always have one tied on. It's absolutely deadly! Get a couple

From: Jordan: IL 5/2/16

Comments: Great jerkbait. Has great action to it when worked properly. It does not get down below 3 feet on 10# fluro. It's my first KVD SK jerkbait and I have no complaints. I own lucky craft, Xcalibur, and mega bass jerkbaits. They all catch fish. This one is just affordable.

From: Don: Clarksville, TN 4/7/15

Comments: People below saying KVD doesn't use his jerkbait in MLF should re-watch MLF. I'm watching him right now destroy the competition with his Strike King Jerkbait in the 2015 Summit Cup (January 2015). I catch monster smallmouth and largemouth on these baits. Keep it moving if you're trying to catch numbers. Any of the shad patterns work, or the clear models for gin-clear water. Load the boat!

From: Dan: Spokane, WA 1/6/15

Comments: A jerk Bait has been my go to post spawn bait for quite some time now. This one takes the cake. It is the easiest one I have ever twitched through the water. I have literally hammered over 100 fish on a 4.5 model including a few toothy critters and it just keeps ticking. The finish has held up well and hasn't come off. The only disappointment so far is the split rings they are weak.

From: Bill: WI 6/23/14

Comments: Tied this bait on for opening day this year and proceeded to put a hurtin' on the bass at my favorite local lake. Got bit on the second cast and didn't put it down for the rest of the day. Ended up with 40+ fish for the day (best day there ever) and fooled the biggest bass I have ever caught on this lake, about 5.5 lbs. Also held up to a 35" tank northern. Outfished my buddy throwing lucky crafts, megabass, and other high dollar jerkbaits. The action is sick!

From: A-Train: WI 5/7/14

Comments: Just tried a 4.5 in clown. This bait does not suspend. It slowly floats up? What junk! It does have good action but should be labeled floating not suspending jerkbait

From: Jeff: McCalla, AL

Comments: Ripbaits of all brands are pretty fragile where the lip meets the body. This one is decent, altho I have had issues with the split rings also. Not a bad ripbait for the price point. I fish the shorter one.

From: Jay6: USA

Comments: Catches fish but I had two HUGE problems while catching smallmouth.  One problem was I and my buddy straightened out the split rings on fish and the second problem my buddy broke two trebles off on fish.  Literally one hook of the three on a treble hook ripped off.

From: Andy: WI

Comments: Bill will brake easily so be carful other than that problem it catches fish just as good as the more expensive ones, id rather buy 2 of these over 1 Lucky Craft.

Comments: Lip brakes when it hits cover and you jerk it off other than that it flat out catches fish.

From: Jack: Redding,Ca

Comments: I brought this lure earlier this year from amazon and i only paid 5 for it and the lure has great action i caught many smallmouth bass on lake lure with this and white bass as well.

From: Genevieve: Morganton, N

Comments: This jerk bait has really good action. Picked me up the silver Tennessee shad and caught some quality bass. I definitely recommend this lure.

From: Bryant: Temecula, Ca

Comments: Great all around jerkbait. New colors are great having a lot of luck with the pro blue and strobe shad. Has great action and suspends well on the pause. Just remember to work the lure on slack line.

From: Brandon: Columbus, IN

Comments: Please continue to buy the higher priced jerkbaits like Megabass.  These surely don't work, but I guess that I've been "lucky" with cheaper baits like these.  They do allow me to buy one more gallon of gas per bait vs Lucky Craft.  I get nearly two more gallons out of the Lucky Strikes.  I save even more gas money if I buy these over Megabass.  More money in the tank means more fishing trips and more fish.  However, everyone knows that the only baits that have that "magic action" are expensive. So keep on buying the baits in the 15 to 20 dollar range.  More money per bait must equal better action thus more fish.  This surely is a known scientific fact.  Cool Aid anyone?

From: Brad: Hayden, Idaho

Comments: If they can lower price on this bait like KVD crankbaits then I would buy this, price is high, like all plastics but has to be extra material for the cost. I hope Champion Master KVD makes new baits with cheaper costs, God bless all and see for yourself if it works or not. Who knows the best bait in your body of water might be right in front of you.

From: Alex

Comments: On this bait the price went up, and quality went down! It's not worth $10! Spend $8 and buy a RC STX and actually catch the fish you need to win money with. This is just a cheap fishless bait.

Comments: For everybody who say these look like lucky crafts NO they do not they also do NOT have any action like a megabass or lucky craft or x-rap or jackall or any other high quality jerkbaits. Thes are just like all other strike king baits, they are built up to be bigger and better than they actually are and in my opinion this bait is no different than all other strike king lures, cheap peices of crap.

From: Patrick: NC

Comments: Don't think about negative reports, KVD worked years on this bait, it may have same action as expensive baits but this looks like great bait and good colors. I plan on getting on when it is local in my area. I love new baits and KVD keep making more! more videos on baits would be good and KVD can keep making lures better.

From: Alex

Comments: howz action on these? look great in color, I hope they sell them local soon. Thanks guys.

From: Alex

Comments: Don't go on some rant about how strike king is so great and the results speak for themselves, anyone with a pair of eyes and three brain cells knows KVD threw a vision 110 in MLF... Not saying anything more than endorsements can be deceiving, What makes this bait worth double the price of most other SK baits? cheap reproduction Jackall colors? lol....

From: mytwocents: nor-cal

Comments: look at tournament results dude, strike king produces fish. i love lucky craft lures but i don't by pass strike king.

From: Chris

Comments: Good action on this plug.  In my opinion it fits well in the price range.  Husky Jerks are good for $6 just as Megabass are good for $25.  I guess you get what you pay for.

Comments: how can a company that makes such good crankbaits make such bad jerkbaits.

From: Miffco

Comments: Got one today and fished it for about a half hour. Hooked up with one bass and landed two pickerel. The finish (yellow perch) is excellent, and it has good action, comparable to an X-Rap. For the price, it's definitely worth it. Will probably get more.

From: David: Atkinson, NH

Comments: in no way shape or form u can say it looks like a lucky craft. Lucky craft has quality products that produce fish

From: Hmoobgey

Comments: Imatation of the DEPS ballasong with only at 1/3 of the price. Just like the Luck E strike of the vision 110.

From: Hmoobmuas: Clovis, CA

Comments: this jerkbait has some awesome action!

Comments: He did use a MEGABASS Jerkbait on MLF, and YES they are sick! Dont fall for this BS he used Megabass like every other pro on the circut.

From: John: MI

Comments: KVD used a Megabass Ito vision to dominate that MLF event.  If you go back and watch the original footage on the internet they show it twice (very quickly) but its plainly a megabass.   I dont own any Megabass products and I am sure this Jerkbait is awesome.

From: Loaf: Punxsy, PA

Comments: I am pretty sure KVD used a Megabass Vision 110 on MLF

Comments: Same jerkbait KVd used to dominate on Major League fishing,Cant wait to try them out looks similar to a lucky craft pointer
