Equipped with Daiwa’s Air Drive Rotor and Air Drive Bail to further reduce weight, these spinning reels feature an ergonomically friendly machined aluminum reel handle that screws in easily into either side of the reel body. Not the sameThe new Fuego is not the same as the previous generation that I loved. I’ve ordered 3 and been disappointed. The first one had a burr on the line roller causing braided line to hang up on it. Wasn’t usable sent it back. The next two are “tight”. There is resistance when turning the handle. To much resistance. They don’t turn with minimal force like previous generations or like a shimano. It feels like you’re always reeling in a glob of junk even when there isn’t junk on the line. The added resistance makes harder to feel that subtle load up that sometimes happens when a fish gently takes it. Try to find the previous generation if you can or order something different.
Frego 3000Super Smooth using 20 pound Braid. Not one Problem, The spool is how I Like it doesn't fly off the spool. The Bail closes easy good drag.

Best Bang For The Buck..?I have 2 of these reels & I have nothing but postive things to say... With the thousands of Largies, Smallies, Walleye, and Panfish we catch each year with these reels, and reels that cost 2-3X as much, you can't go wrong with it, as it'll more than get the job done. This reel, The Nasci, and The Johnny Morris Platinum are hard to beat for the money. I wish all the sizes were 6 speeds like the Nasci and Johnny's are, but you'll pick up better balance with this reel over the other two mentioned if you're using super light rods/higher end rods. Learn to properly maintain your reels in-season and/or in the off-season, if ya have one, or take them to someone who does ~ Peace from The NorthWoods of Wisconsin ~
A miss for $100 price point.I have about 6 or 7 Daiwa products and I am happy with all of them except the Fuego 1000.
In the hands it feels unrefined. Although there is no play in the handle, the reel is not smooth. It feels like metal rotating on metal, which is not the feedback you want. Perhaps I need to break it in, but that would be a first.
The pros: drag is decent, feels light.
It get’s the job done but there are better options at the same price, Shimano Nasci, or even cheaper, Okuma Avenger.
I love this reelSuper smooth. I love my Fuego LT in the 2500 size. Have caught many basses on it.
Favorite reel!I'm not rich by any means but I could afford a more expensive reel but for fishing a couple times a week maybe I cannot justify spending more than 120 bucks on a reel. I've never had any issues with Diawa's so I grabbed this one in the 3000 size and I love it. Smooth as butter and looks great. Drag seems good so far and I bought an after market aluminum ball crank for it off of Amaz and it brought the smoothness to a whole new level. I love this reel. With the new crank it feels like a 300 dollar reel.
Why are the spools so deep ? Ridiculous !I love this reel. Super smooth with a great drag and the bail wire is thinner now, which some people don't like, but I do. The thing that bothers me is that the spools should be longer and shallower, similar to the ones Shimano uses. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 though, because of the durability factor and you can feel the gears after 1 season. But they are fairly cheap so you can buy a few of them.
Great ReelFor $100 I don't think there's a better spinning reel on the market. Bought this reel for one of my cheaper less used rods and man is it nice! It fishes way above the $100 price point. I think ill be getting these for now on rather than more expensive spinning reels.
Best first reel I ever gotAs I started to get into fishing, my grandparents got me a Fuego 2500 for my birthday. That was 2 years ago, and I have fished it nearly every day since then. This reel is still going strong, even after being dunked, dropped, scratched, etc. It has caught some of my biggest fish on artificial lures, I think if anyone wants to get into fishing, this is an amazing product.
Best spinning reel I ownThis reel feels great in my hand, very smooth. What I like the most is that I can set it down in sand or dirt and not have to worry about debris getting inside the gears etc. when I’m wading in the water sometimes the reel goes under water but it’s still smooth as butter!

Comments: I got the 2500 and it's been great. The drag is smooth, everything feels light but not cheap at all. I'm definitely going to be buying another one.
