Built around the infamous Light and Tough (LT) body, the Daiwa Legalis LT Spinning Reels are constructed from a carbon-based composite material that is much lighter than conventional materials, yet very durable to increased comfort and feel. The Advanced Tournament Drag system (ATD) also gives anglers reliable and smooth power to stop hard fighting fish in their tracks. Complete with machined aluminum folding handles for increased control and comfort, the Daiwa Legalis LT Spinning Reels provide tournament caliber performance at an unmatched price point.

Daiwa LegalisI was pleasantly surprised by the smoothness and performance of this reel. I use it with a light action setup and it performed beyond my expectations. Handled a 33” pike and a lot of smallmouths with no problems. Smooth operation, great drag all for well under $100. Can’t beat it!

Comments: I have 4 Daiwa spinning reels. Love them all. I got a Legalis when I was planning on getting a Regal. I am on a tight budget. Extremely tight. So when I found a Legalis for less money than the Regal sells for, I jumped at it. I have 2 Regals, 2000, 30000. A QZ750 ultralight. And the Legalis 2500. There are things I like about the Legalis better than the Regal. And some things I like better on the Regal than the Legalis. I give a very slight edge to the Regal. It has more bearings and is smoother to reel. But it is slight. Build is the same between the two. I would not hesitate to buy either of them again. And if something happens to one of them I will replace it with the same model. But I don't see that happening for a long time. I need to try and get money for some more Daiwa baitcasters and replace my very cheap reels I got off f Amazon. But that will take a long time too. Do yourself a favor and get some Daiwa's. Everyone loves Shimano's. Nothing agai nst them. They are good reels. But I prefer Daiwa's. And when people give them a try they fall in love with them.

Comments: Got the 2500 XH during the summer sale and I love it so far. The larger handle knob is a big positive and the reel itself is butter smooth. Line lay has been an issue with Daiwa spinning reels but this one doesn't have that problem. Phenomenal reel for the price.

Comments: First and foremost, I fish in Florida and have setups designated for our freshwater LM bass and setups for saltwater and a few that are for both. I have had a number of the Daiwa LT reels over the past few years from the Tatula, Fuego, Regal, and first generation Legalis lt. I've also had a few BG's which are apples to oranges to the lt series and can't really be compared/ you either want a heavier, sturdy feeling reel or you want a "light and strong" The Legalis reels are great and I would compare them directly with the Pflueger President series with these being lighter. I will say there is a difference between this generation vs the first Legalis lt (black and gold colors). I do like that this generation has the larger handle grip at the 2500 size. I was disappointed when I first took this out of the box and as I found the piece that connects to the rod looks and feels more plastic than the first generation which felt stronger and was the same as the tatula lt, and fuego lt. It now feels the same as the Pflueger presidents in terms of rigity. The reel still feels great, fishes great, and is internally the same as the fuego minus the handle and mag seal. The handle never bothered me much and I've used several of these side by side my fuegos fishing saltwater/inshore down here in Florida and both are holding up just as well the other. When compared to the Regal, the Legalis feels much stronger. The regal and revro have always felt too light and flimsy. Definitely worth the few extra dollars for the Legalis. I am disappointed that Daiwa went away from the original stronger feeling base that attached to the rod but am happy they gave a larger handle to the smaller sizes. I've used most of the Shimano's, Daiwas, and Pflueger s in the $50-$100 price point and I keep coming back to Daiwa. Once you get around $200 then it's hard to beat Shimano but Daiwa has a stronghold in this price range. Take this review for what it is and you can't really go wrong for the price.

Comments: I am very meticulous about putting on my own line. And just like my 2 Regals (same reel different paint job), it did not spool up evenly. The spool was bottom-heavy and had the pyramid effect. I had to remove a couple of the thin plastic washers from around the shaft and spool up again. Also, it has a sketchy design around the shaft with a flimsy horse-shoe shaped spring holding things in place that can pop out too easily. Secondly, the spool (like Lew's) is too short and too deep. A longer slightly shallower spool would help reduce some line twist and wasted line at the core. It is a very smooth however, and I like having the switch on the back in case I want to backreel on large fish. So overall a pretty good reel that needs a little tweaking and quality control.

Comments: This reel was a great purchase. I got the 3000 size and I put it on my Medium Heavy 7 foot rod. I can use up to a 1.5 oz lure with this rod and reel set up. The 3000 size I think is the best size because you you get up to 200 yards of 15lb braid which is all you need for the light saltwater fishing that I do. The reel is super smooth an the drag system is the best I've even felt on a reel that is under 100 dollars.

Comments: Another winner from Daiwa and Tackle Warehouse. I'm partial to Daiwa gear already and just purchased the Daiwa Legalis 2500. Using for largemouth and redfish too. Super smooth, casts great and I like the drag, it's strong and forgiving. I paired it with a Favorite White 7-2 medium heavy for everything from senkos to coastal bottom fishing. I would definitely recommend it especially at this price point.

Comments: Nice smooth reel.   Exceedingly light for a reel at this price point....But be aware, whenever I saw pictures I saw that big beautiful  handle grip you see above.....it looks so inviting....I bought a 2000 size and it didnt have that big grippy handle, just the smaller cheaper standard one......still a nice reel, but I dont get why they do not disclose that the handles vary per model.
