Ok for open waterThis line is ok for fishing open water. However, it is not good for fishing around wood or rock. Line gets damaged pretty easily.

Spinnerbaiting foolLove throwing spinnerbaits in heavy cover. Started using the Diawa Samurai fluo 20lb. Caught bass over 6lbs. Haven’t broke one off yet knock on wood. Use the 14lb. for shakey head all the sizes are so much smaller diameter and cast very well. It is a little pricey for the bulk spool. Also use the 18lb. I would highly recommend it.

Diawa Samurai line is the truth!!!You can tell immediately when you spool your first reel with this line that it's different, in the best ways! Its smooth, thing, consistent and extremely durable! I trust it with the highest end glide baits on 20-25lb test and it has never failed me! I do re tie after each fish I catch of any significance or every 70-80 casts. A good practice when throwing 2-8oz baits all day

Very hard FCI got this line in 12# on sale wanted to see if more expensive line was worth it. Used it for cranking on my curado DC 150 from fall 2022 and it's still on that reel, and likely will only be swapped after a few outings due to reties etc. I retie often but don't crank that much. Then I got the 22# for a big softbait setup, and let me tell you, this line is so hard and vibration prone, I felt bites and was able to feel bottom so well last season that I am going to drag a big softbait as much as I can this year. Also got some 14# for small footballs and little choppy glide baits. This line is dynamite compared to the red label I was using a few years ago. Nothing but compliments - and when it goes on sale, 1000 yds is only 88$ or so. Look around it's a steal.

Daiwa Samurai FluorocarbonAt this price point you get the best line on the market. Thin, strong, nearly invisible, and it casts a mile. I definitely have fewer breaks and catch more fish.

Main Tournament LineI have tried many FC lines over the past few years as I started fishing tournaments. I have used the most expensive to the cheap. I’ve had line that gets stiff and has horrible memory, to line like this which is simply amazing. The reason I landed on the daiwa samurai fc as my main line is because of the cost to the performance. This line acts and feels like a high end line, like Tatsu, or Shooter. It’s on that same level. But for the price of a 1000yd spool, it is not nearly as expensive. Even now with all the sunline technique specific lines, the Daiwa is still just as good. I use the 18, 14, 12, and 8 lb lines. Bulk spools of all of them. And heres the best part……….. The first year I used the Samurai I was respooling before every tournament (unless it was a rod I knew I hadn’t used in previous tourney). I never had any issues. Then in the 22 season, I got lazy, and maybe respooled about every other tournament. This year in 23, I didnt respool but 1 time the whole season (i fished probably 15 or so tourneys, plus all the practices and fishing with friends——i fish A LOT) I only respooled once in middle of season, and I only did that because a couple a reels were getting low on line from retying and all thst throughout the season. There were still some rods I never did respool. I just checked during fishing for dings and nicks in line and retied as needed. The only rod I respooled more than once was my cranking rod, because that line takes an absolute beating having tension constantly, vibration, banging into rocks, etc. You could tell when the line needed swapped though, and I only changed it twice. Without respooling as much, I saved a bunch of money, and STILL i only hroke off 2 fish all year that I remember, snd neither was because line needed changed (a smallmouth ran line through a tree and jumped and snapped leader, the other one a smallie went under the hobie and ran line into the pedal drive and broke). There were many other fish that pulled into cover and wood that I was able to get out without breaking line. So my point is, this line is amazing for the cost, it lasts long, it’s resilient to nicks and dings, and its supple and smooth and doesnt have bad memory.

Tough as nails!!I switched to Daiwa fluorcarbon about a year ago and this stuff has great knot strength and is very tough and durable. It's the only fluorocarbon line I use!

Comments: This is my favorite line. It is very strong and the camouflage color works wonderfully in most Florida lakes. Compared with most lines it would be considered expensive, however my friends have to re-spool twice to my once so the value is there. Additionally, the line transfers nibbles and bites aggressively with very little stretch compared to other florocarbon lines. Like all lines, you must check your line for abrasions after every fish and re-tie if found I like the 14 lbs and the 20 lbs.

Comments: Just used this past weekend on a tournament in upstate New York and helped secure lunker and a solid 4th place finish. Only broke off on one fish and that was due to a large pike not the species I was looking for. Overall happy with the fluorocarbon for my chatterbaits.

From: Robert: Sharon,MA 9/21/23

Comments: Having a problem with the line breaking in the middle after about two trips out fishing. There has been several times during a cast the line broke mid cast. Not sure what is causing it but it has happened 4 times on 4 different reels. What I think is happening is that it's getting kinks in the line after a backlash. That's the only explanation I can think of. I switched line and problem went away.

From: Craig: Fayetteville NC 8/2/23

Comments: I've been using Fluorocarbon for many years. I have used off the shelf favorites and also purchased many of the higher end most expensive Fluro's and just hadn't found one I was overly impressed with until now. The Daiwa J was really smooth as I loaded on reel. Have made several trips since respooling and very impressed with this line. I live on Lake Fork and this line works well over structure and stout enough to handle the brutes. I would definitely recommend paying a little more for this quality.

From: Wayne Godwin: Yantis, TX 7/3/23

Comments: Might be the best floro I have ever spooled, not a issue one with handling or breakoffs been using it in 10# for cranks and 16# on bladed jigs, spinnerbaits and buzz baits

From: Unknown: 6/28/23

Comments: Seems to be good line. The heaver,18lb test, spooled well on my two Baitcasting Reels. As did the lighter 7lb test, in my Spinning Reels. Make sure you get the line started correctly in your Spinning Reel. I don't think this stuff would tolerate twisting very well, if at all. So far both cast well. Knot strength appears to be very good, using a Palomar Knot and/or a Figure Eight Knot. These rods will be used for Salmon and Steelhead in the fall and spring, so don't really know yet what size fish they'll handle. But at this point I do not foresee any major problems.

From: JD: Interlochen, Mi. 6/24/23

Comments: Awesome line, very supple, spools up well. Has great castability, and haven't had any issues with breakage. A guy that worked for McCoy for years told me to use it, as the process they use is far superior to most manufacturers. Definitely a great product. I've also been using the hidden concept flouro, which has a green/brown hue to it. It's a little more expensive, but it's awesome as well.

From: Dustin : DFW Texas 6/22/23

Comments: So far good results, had been have breaking problems with the major brand line I had been using, been out 5 times no issues. Price is right for yardage.

From: Dennis: Kentucky 6/21/23

Comments: Not a lot of time on it since spooling it up but while spooling the line was very manageable, no noticeable nicks imperfections or kinking, laid on spool very nicely. Will updated after more time on the line but at this point it appears to be the real deal

From: Unknown: 5/1/23

Comments: The Diawa j fluorocarbon samurai is some great line. Thin for it's weight line and very strong and seems to have very little stretch. All these qualities lends itself to being more efficient on the water. I've used it from 12 -20 lb and have found the same great results with each lb rating I've used.

From: Mike W.: San Diego CA 5/1/23

Comments: My new favorite braided line smooth and strong

From: Unknown: 4/24/23

Comments: Don't have a lot of time with it yet but so far I'm impressed. Seems very strong for lb class, handles well. Have used a lot of other brands and been disappointed with them. Great feature is a half way spool marker.

From: JSmith: Upstate NY 4/9/23

Comments: Hands down the best line I've ever used/tried the 10&12 pound camo last year and haven't looked back. Superior knot strength, above average abrasion resistance and low memory! I'll be using this for all my fluorocarbon applications from now on!

From: Dave: Nova Scotia, Canada 3/15/23

Comments: I read the reviews on this line before buying it, was wanting to purchase Tatsu but wanted something of less cost so I bought a spool and have fished it for a year now and I have to say its is really a good line, stays limp and have no issues with knots or breakage . The line size I bought was 6# test and I have also purchased some 10# test also.

From: Vince: Jamestown 3/11/23

Comments: 10 and 12 have become my go to jerkbait and cranking line.

From: Josh: Ashville, AL 12/30/22

Comments: Couple of trips so far with the 7 lb on a drop shot. Seems to have low memory which is what I was looking for. Seems to have good strength too. I'm a sunline guy but the first impression is this is better.

From: Kevin: Knoxville 12/5/22

Comments: I have been using Diawa J Fluoto Samurai since it came out. Best line in all weight classes I have ever used. The only fish I lost while using this line was my error, not the line. I use 6, 8, 10, 12, 16,18 and 20 pound test. Castability, limber line, and knot strength all rate better and higher than any other line I have used. I fish 15-plus tournaments each year plus pre-fishing.

From: Ben: California 12/1/22

Comments: I have been using this line for about a year in multiple sizes and I have been pretty impressed. My favorite is still p-line tactical for abrasion resistance but the samurai excels when you want a heavier line with a smaller diameter.

From: Brandon: WV 11/17/22

Comments: Overall a good line. Smooth surface, level wound on spool and good knot strength. Will definitely buy again. But it's still expensive.

From: Unknown: Indiana 11/10/22

Comments: Didn't have such a great experience! Snapped three pigs off in one morning at one of my favorite local lakes. It is smooth, smaller diameter, but it is not tougher!!

From: Alan: 10/26/22

Comments: Hands down great line very smooth excellent knot strength excellent castability just as good as tatsu but at a better price it doesn't have the memory like sniper you will not be disappointed with this line.

From: Adam : Pennsylvania 10/22/22

Comments: I have been using this line on the socal surf for the past year and it has surpassed all my expectations. The line is soft yet strong enough to be dragged across mussel beds and rocks without any signs of having gone through such terrain. It cast great and stays limber. I recommend this line for any of your fishing needs.

From: Efrain: 10/7/22

Comments: This is a solid line. Soft, strong and decent abrasion resistance. I am a Sunline guy, but thought I would give this a try when I saw the sale. 16# test recently held up to a day of square bill grinding on gravel, rocks, and boulders with several nice fish caught. Happy with purchase.

From: Scott: Texas 9/29/22

Comments: This is probably the smoothest line we've ever used. Castability is amazing, strength is superb. it is definitely worth the asking price.

From: Unknown: 9/13/22

Comments: Absolutely outstanding line ! As a much older angler I've tried what seems a 100 diffrent lines .. past few years I was a big fan of sniper .. this is better .. stronger - holds a great knot - sinks fast - invisible.. but most important it's very pliable .. even the 25 # for big Swimbaits .. throw with confidence.. this line is amazing

From: Ross: Nevada 9/3/22

Comments: I used tatsu exclusively for years when money was on the line but this stuff is incredible and far superior. It's great if u catch it on a sale. But worth every dang penny if u don't. Smooth casting, unbreakable, very very good line that seems to have an unusually long life on the spool. A+++ highly recommend.

From: Mike: MO 7/23/22

Comments: I've been very pleased with the Diawa Samurai Fluorocarbon. I have used almost everything out there and this compares very favorably with Tatsu. I love the thin diameter and castability. It performs very well!

From: Mike M: Texas: 6/27/22

Comments: I bought the 4lb line 1000yd spool to test it on the Daiwa Exist 2000 SP spinning reel. I am not a fluorocarbon line fan usually I fish monofilament 99.9% of the time. This line was tough and durable and landed me a rather nice bass. I am pleased with it and when they get more in stock I will get another 1000yd spool. Great price and hard to beat. Best fluorocarbon I ever used easily. Do yourself a favor buy this line it works.

From: Brian: Akron, OH 6/25/22

Comments: Absolutely best floro I have used on a spinning rod, and I have used them all (Tatsu, Shooter, Sniper, Gamma) and this line out performs them all in every category. Handling/Casting GREAT. Knot Strength GREAT. Strength/Abrasion Resistance GREAT. I have several spinning reels spooled with 7 lb and 8lb J Fluora and the memory is almost non existent with no coils jumping off the reel. Casting 3 and 3.5 tubes, 3.3 and 3.8 Keitechs, a mile. And at 220 yards per spool, it could be one of the best deals in Floro on the market. This is the best handling, most manageable and best casting floro I have ever used.

From: Nick: Maine 5/28/22

Comments: Love it.... strong, smooth and very clean feeling. Love using it as a leader for my braided finesse setups.

From: Cody: Unknown 5/10/22

Comments: Builds to much memory way too fast, back to FC Sniper

From: Dusty: OH 5/2/22

Comments: Very smooth and very strong. I have found my preferred main line fluorocarbon in heavier line sizes.

From: Doug: Virginia 4/29/22

Comments: Strength is superior, but memory makes me hate this line. Love and hate relationship.

From: Unknown: 4/26/22

Comments: This is the best fluorocarbon line I have ever used changing all my reels over good knot strength little memory.

From: Danny: Unknown 3/15/22

Comments: A very good casting fluorocarbon. Knots strength feels good and at the price well worth it. I've been using 12 and 8 lb and both are manageable.

From: Unknown: 1/3/22

Comments: I fish in South Florida around the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee and this line gets the job done. It also works amazing as a leader tied to braid. If you do not have some be sure to add it to your cart you will not be disappointed.

From: Michael: Homestead, FL 12/26/21

Comments: Best fluorocarbon ever! Changing all my reels over to it I've tried a lot of line but this surpassed them all.

From: Danny: Calhoun 12/20/21

Comments: I have been a sunline guy since I started fishing but I got a spool of this to try in 16lb and I love it haven't had any problems with break offs

From: Unknown: Ontario,Canada 12/17/21

Comments: Very happy with 18lb line. I was considering this as a possible substitute for Tatsu. This line is very good quality, is more limp than other more dense flouro, and is nice casting and handling. The knots were great. The toughness is good on nicks. The price point for premium flouro line is better than Tatsu. However, while it is a great line option, in my testing it was not a complete substitute for Tatsu. It is an alternative, but not a replacement or better in any area other than price. I am happy with Samurai, and will find use for it as it is a great all around option.

From: Noel: Texas 12/15/21

Comments: The jury is still out...I have been a sunline guy forever. This line is smooth, casts great and seems to be a little softer than sunline. The half way mark on the line is a big help when spooling your reels.

From: Unknown: Arizona 11/26/21

Comments: Seems to be really great and really thin compared to others.

From: Biscuit: Florida 11/23/21

Comments: It feels super nice but its not even close to the quality of Tatsu. I'd put it between sniper and shooter stiffness-wise. However the 14lb feels like 16lb FCsniper to me. Sunline for me 100%

From: Grat: California 11/4/21

Comments: I've been using the 14lb for crankbaits on a Abu Revo Winch Gen 4 on my Levante Flatside Special since April and I love it. Zero complaints. Casts very well and is easy to tie. Not as easy as Tatsu but still excellent. Abrasion resistance is top-notch as well.

From: Scott: New Hampshire 11/2/21

Comments: I bought a bunch from 8 pound through 16 pound and the 12 and up i really like but i find the 8 and 10 pound doesnt like hooksets i get broke off non stop where the seaguar and berkley seems to be a little stronger. The 12 and up ive had no problems with

From: Josh: Belleville,Ontario Canada 11/2/21

Comments: I read how great this was but now I've experienced it firsthand. No more FC- Sniper for me. The strength is very impressive and the castability is excellent!!!

From: Tyson: Modesto, CA 10/6/21

Comments: If you want the best fluorocarbon that checks all boxes. This is it. Finally the perfect fluoro. I've tried every one on the market. Including Gamma which is great but the 16 lb is equivalent diameter to 22lb Samurai. Which is why it's perceived to be so strong. I've been using 22 pound Samurai for flipping and bladed jigs, I cannot break it. And it handles better than any of them. I get nothing out of this review, just trying to help save someone some time and alot of money experimenting with lines. Trust me you'll be hard pressed to find a better fluorocarbon

From: Unknown: 9/16/21

Comments: Been using the J-flouro for about 6 or 7 months now. It's on all my bait casters. 10 to 20 lb test. Love it. It's as good or maybe a little better than the sunline fc. But the design of the spool makes it easy to re-spool in the boat by yourself. The game changer is 220 yds per spool and the sticker at half spool. Easy to spool 100 yds each on 2 reels with plenty left for leaders FG knotted to your braid. My new favorite line. Caint wait to try the camo version.

From: Ken: Tuscaloosa, AL 9/5/21

Comments: Found this product in 12/14lb for half off at my local store. It is amazing and you get enough to comfortably fill two spools. Casts better than Segaur InvixZ but isn't nearly as stretchy. I feel that InvisX has a close to monofilament feeling. I like my flurocarbon for jerkbaits on the stiffer side but stiffer usually means tougher to manage, not with the Daiwa Samurai fluro. The only knock would be that it's a little thicker than 12 invisx. Hoping to try 17/20 for flipping soon.

From: Benjamin, Saint Paul, MN 9/4/21

Comments: It's pricey but worth every penny best fluorocarbon I've ever used period !!

From: Unknown: Arkansas 8/29/21

Comments: This line is working good. I've had it on for more than two weeks which is the test for me, so I'm happy

From: Glen: Livermore, CA 8/29/21

Comments: Line is very soft and manageable for a fluorocarbon, yet is very strong for it's diameter. Definitely worth the cost.

From: Greg: Arkansas 8/23/21

Comments: Pretty good line, honestly spools out on a cast extremely well, best switch I've made

From: William: Baytown, TX 8/19/21

Comments: very soft and strong line even in 5-6 lb range. Great for BFS applications.

From: Philip: Ontario, Canada 8/11/21

Comments: First impressions are good so far. The line comes off the spool mess free and there is a sticker in the spool to indicate when you hit the half waypoint. I still used line conditioner out of habit. Looking forward to seeing how it casts.

Comments: I bought this line in 25lb for big swimbaits. This line Is good, but not the best the abrasion resistance is not the best compared to seagar abrasex. For the price I would just stick with seagar

Comments: In my honest opinion Daiwa Samurai is only second to Segaur Tatsu. And it's a close second. Samurai is strong, transmit bites well. For the 60% of the cost of Tatsu I'll take it every time.

Comments: Seems like a good line so far. I have used tactical and invis-x in the past and I will probably buy this over those when possible. I really like the 1/2 way point marker too.

Comments: Best Fluoro i've used and i've used most. Works well for everything I do. Great abrasion resistance but also very limber.

Comments: WOW I'm 64 been doing this a long time used ever fluoro out there this is the best.

Comments: Still trying it out but at almost twice the cost of Seaguar Red Label not sure the .0043 inch difference is enough sensitivity advantage to be worth $3 every 50 yard change out. The line dispenser on the 220 yd product is the best & very useful if you're having to respool on the water.

Comments: I've been using a lot of different brand lines are over the years. I selected this brand of line in order to stay at the top of my game. First off the line slides great off the reel. Have let to break my line on a hook set.  This line sets itself apart from other brands for better performance and durability. I'll be back for more line from this company.

Comments: My all time fav floro.. so much so I'm only buying 1000 yard spools from here on out.. it's the perfect floro line in every category!

From: Dean: Las Vegas, NV 1/9/21

Comments: Hands down the best fluoro line I have ever used. Thinner, straighter, softer, less stiff than any other I have tried. It feels noticeably different in hand.

Comments: This line is awesome! I'm a fan of FC sniper for a while now... decided to try the Seaguar Invisx and it is a good line but this line will top both of those two line easy. I use Flouro as my main line from 17-20lbs for all purpose bass fishing, flipping, punching, swimbaits, etc. except for top water... I use braid for top water. J braid is still my line for froggin! I think I'll stick to Daiwa lines for now. Good stuff Japan! Fish on

Comments:
Great line all around I throw cranks, known as a crancking fool. The line does fry it is disappointing hope the manufacturer fixes that issue than line would be superb

Comments:This line is awesome and a great price for a high end Japanese Fluorocarbon. I have recently had some issues with the Tatsu and will be making the switch to this from now on. It is very strong and cast very well and spooled on to the spools properly so you don't get flat spots in the line.

Comments: After weight testing it (holds very true to advertising) and just how supple thin this line is I was blown away! Ties and holds a knot excellent, low stretch, very low memory. You get what you pay for and this floro is worth every dime. I was a big abrasX user. but I believe this to be even better. I can't imagine a negative review on this line. It's outstanding!
