Claiming the award for Best Saltwater Reel at ICast 2021, the Daiwa Saltist MQ Spinning Reel has been redesigned with Daiwa’s latest cutting-edge technologies to take on the toughest predators in saltwater environments. Featuring Daiwa’s one-piece Monocoque (MQ) body, this high-performance spinning reel does not require a body cover but instead uses an engine plate to attach directly to the body and eliminate any need for screws. Not only does the MQ body increase overall strength, but it also improves water resistance and allows for a larger diameter drive gear to be installed.
The innovative Air Bail design incorporates a hollow tubular stainless steel bail to deliver maximum rigidity and strength with minimal weight. Tough DigiGear ensures gear precision and rotational smoothness with a digitally designed machine-cut gearing system, while the updated Air Rotor provides the ultimate reel sensitivity and balanced retrieves. Complete with a Mag-sealed main shaft to maximize protection from the elements, the Daiwa Saltist MQ Spinning Reel is built with a heavy-duty aluminum frame for incredible durability and taking on the toughest of battles.
