Comments: 7' MF - Purchased my second 7' Tatula MF spinning rod. One is paired with a DAIWA Ballistic LT 3000 and this combo has practically no throw weight to speak of. Casting and recovery are a joy. Solid power, smooth action, high sensitivity, beauty and comfort - all in one package. Some of you may be doubtful of the consistently strong Tatula purchaser endorsements claiming performance in the $300 range. Well I was too, but then I bought one and with the help of my math-head engineer neighbor, we figured it out: it's a $300 rod - that only costs $150. I'm ordering a third.

Comments: I bought my wife the 6'8" M paired with a Fuego 2500. It's turning out to be a pretty awesome setup! It's lighter than my St Croix LTB, a rod that cost considerably more money. Can't really say how it fishes though, as it's my wife's and I told her I wouldn't be buying her a gift for myself lol.

Comments: 7'1" ML and 7' M rods are so great, and not for the price, at any price. The 7'1" is an incredible drop shot/ned rig/ grub rod. The 7' M is a great all round rod with a really nice fast action. Both are super sensitive, cast well, and have a great taper. 6'10" medium rod has an extra fast taper, super comfortable, well balanced rod. Probably one of the best shaky head rods around. Very well designed rods overall, with good components. Fuji grips and guides.

Comments: I just received the 6'10 MXS rod and I really like its weight and quality of it. It feels and looks very well made but was a bit surprised that the guides are very, very small for a spinning rod. Actually, very small. More like the micro guides one would find on a BFS baitcaster. After adding my Shimano Symetre 1000 reel and stringing 15lb Power Pro braid with a 1/8oz jig I was super disappointed in the hook keeper! It's so tight and small it's a fight to get a hook attached to it, and will definitely scratch the rod blank. The hook barb even hangs up on the small opening. I debated on returning it solely for this reason but decided to keep it since it is such a nice feeling rod and the perfect dimensions I was looking for. I guess I'   ll clip one end and make an open ended keeper out of it, or cut it off and epoxy build one on myself. For the price I would have expected an "complete" useable rod but hey it's a product of China, sadly.

Comments: I already owned the 7'med. paired with my 17 Essence and it's my PERFECT soft plastics rod. This rod flies under the radar and I don't know why. It's light, sensitive, the action is terrific and it's a real bang for the buck. I loved it so much I purchased the 6'8 med. and the 6'10' med from T.W. I forgot to mention that these rods balance perfectly and the cork grips are quality. Dare I say I like it better than my Zodias! This coming from a Shimano guy.

From: Phil: P.A. 12/26/22

Comments: I have the 7'0" Medium and it balances extremely well with Tatula 2500 and is super sensitive. The handle design is awesome with the long foregrip. I've been using it for smallmouth and have found it pretty versatile, but excels with ned rigs. It does ok with 1/4 oz hair jigs as well.

From: Thomas: Michigan 5/15/22

Comments: 7,1" ML paired with Luvias 2000 is the most balanced and comfortable combo I have. Everything about this rod screams " fish me all day long ". Including the price. No problem pulling bass out of some of the nasty too. Daiwa fan for 40 years. Never have been disappointed.

From: Brian: New Jersey 12/9/21

Comments: I have the 7' medium and 7'2" medium heavy. I really like the fast action on them, but the MH is just soft enough to not feel like a broomstick. The extended handle going up the rod is good for anglers who prefer a more forward grip. I'm a spinning rod only angler and these two rods are my workhorses.

From: Shane: Rochester, NY 12/8/21

Comments: I can only speak for the 6'6" and the 7'3". 6'6" is my wife's.....it is a joy to fish with. 7'3" is not balanced. Doesn't matter if you have a 7-12 oz reel on it. I'm not about to consult billy bob Son, throw a rubber leg cap awn with some quarters! If you're used to balanced rods and value balanced rods, the 7'3" will disappoint.

From: DanL Illinois 4/26/21

Comments: I use the 6-8 Medium as my main spinning setup. Talk about bang for your buck, feeling the bite on slack line with a wacky rig helped me land a 4.5 pounder without issue. I paired this with a Fuego 2500 XH and the balance point is right where my index finger rests when gripping the full handle not with the reel handle between ring finger and pinky. I love the position of the locking reel lock nut too, this is how a handle should feel on a spinning setup. The aesthetics on this rod are much more appealing to me than the elite silver surfer colors there (my preference). You cannot go wrong with this rod!

From: Ray: TX 4/3/21

Comments: I bought a 7'6" Med Light for hair jigs after having 2 St Croix hair jig rods break while lifting 12" walleyes into the boat. After it arrived I ordered another one. It's the best rod that I've used for hair jigs and other light weight presentations. Paired them with 3000 series Legalis reels and couldn't be happier.

From: James: Ferryville, WI 3/13/21

Comments: Got the 7'6" medium light-medium power / fast action model. First off, this is MUCH more like a medium power. I own a pair of Dobyns Champion 733SF's, that are medium power/fast action spinning rods, and this Tatula model is noticeably a tad heavier in power, and faster in action.  The action on this Tatula model is almost an XF action. it has a nice soft'ish tip, but goes into backbone fairly quick! VERY nice rod! Just thought I'd give a heads up on the actual power/action rating this model actually is.

From: Jeff: Hubbard, Ohio 1/16/21

Comments: Bought the 7'1" ML for drop shot, ned rigs, live bait. Super sensitive and lightweight. I could feel a tungsten drop shot weight ticking the bottom at 20'. Love everything about this rod except for the hook-keeper being placed on the butt section.

From: Ray: Montoursville, PA 10/20/20

Comments: 7'1" medium light: I bought this rod to be a ned rig, neko rig, 3/16 oz jig, and 3.5" and 4.5" original Rapala, and drop shot rod. I didn't know it was called a drop shot rod, it's printed on the blank "drop shot". It excels at all of these presentations I listed. I use either a Shimano Stradic FK1000, or a Daiwa Tatula LT 3000, and even with the super light Tatula 3000 it balances perfectly. The other reviewers posted the weight, so I weighed mine too, it's just a hair under 3.5oz. Sensitivity is fantastic, I can feel the lightest bites in 25-30' of water. The taper is also great, it's a light fast tip that hits the backbone just right. The taper of this rod keeps fish pinned, I haven't lost one fish on it all season. Reeling hook sets with ned rigs, and drop shots are a breeze. It also has plenty of power to set on Bitsy bugs jigs. I've been catching fish on Rapala floaters since I was a kid, and I think this is the best rod I have found for these baits. Reel seat, and grip is a perfect design, it's as comfortable as can be. If you want a long finesse spinning rod, this is the one to get.

From: Monty: Chicago, IL 9/7/20

Comments:I bought the 7'-1" medium light. It weighs 3.6 oz on my scale.I paired it with a Tatula LT 2500 and love this set up for Ned, Neko and drop shot. This model actually has "drop shot" written on the shaft right above the cork. This may be the most balanced spinning rod I have ever owned and I love the design of the grip.My other main spinning rod is the MegaBass Orochi XX Whipsnake and this is every bit as good a rod as that one for half the price.Has a nice soft tip but quickly gets into the backbone to help you fight bigger fish.

From:Mark: Tuscumbia 5/10/20

Comments: Reviewing the 7'1 medium light. Have mine paired with a Daiwa Tatula 2500. Perfect marriage, these two were made for eachother. The rod itself weighs in at only 3.5 ounces, insanely sensitive for only a $150 rod. The cork on these rods are average at best, but to be expected at its price point. Be sure and use rod seal on yours. Rod tech has come such a long way, this same rod back in the 90s would have easily cost $300. Rod will be perfect for throwing my 3/8 oz and under baits drop shot & also makes for a perfect spy bait combo. Daiwa puts out some really nice rods for a more then fair price, take note of the Daiwa Arid rod. This is just like with a few upgrades, a steal for only $150

From: Dean: Las Vegas, NV 3/24/20

Comments:Got the 7' Medium and couldn't be happier, light, well-balanced, has the perfect action and power to cover just about any finesse technique. Skips far and accurate. Sexy looking rod too, quality cork on a sweet looking split grip (wish the casting rods had a split grip), reel seat tightens from the bottom which is a new feature for me and I think I like it. Wish hook keeper was clip style, it basically looks like a clip but bottom is welded so need an open hook to attach. Guides look nice and durable, leader knot slides through no problem. Thinking about getting the 6'10 M XF for drop shot.

From: Unknown: 12/9/19

Comments: The best spinning rod in the under $250 range I have ever used. I have the medium in 6'6" and 6'8" sizes. The balance, sensitivity, and actions are on par with much higher end rods. The banks are very crisp, with very nice components, and one of the most comfortable handles out there. I really like the taper of these rods, they allow them to be used for many techniques. I have them both paired with a Tatula LT 3000 shallow spool reel, and the combos are perfect in hand, light and balanced. I've caught tons of fish on them with zero issues.

From: Unknown: Illinois 9/28/19

Comments:I bought the 6'10" medium extra fast tatula rod and the series 2000 tatula reel for dropshot shakey head and Ned rigs and this is as absolutely amazing setup! Super sensitive and so light it's like holding air! I have probably 15 tatula rods in different actions for all types of applications and they are simply the lightest most sensitive rods on the market! I've only recently bought a few tatula reels but so far they are just as amazing!

From:Randy Gauntt: Natchitoches, LA 8/2/19

Comments:I bought this rod last fall in the 6'6" M with the intention of making it my dedicated jerkbait rod.It has a good flex for fishing jerkbaits and I also like the grip shape (grip comfort has become a huge factor in my rod buying lately) and shorter butt length on the 6'6" rod.But the more I used it the more I liked it and tried blade baits on it as well before the lakes froze.I was very satisfied with the sensitivity for $160 rod and fished with it more than the St. Croix Legend Elite 6'6" M 2 piece rod that also had a blade bait on it.I was using 2 different blade baits so a comparison between the two isn't fair but it seemed at the time that I had better bottom contact with the Tatula. So much so that I contemplated selling the St. Croix and getting a couple more Tatulas while I was on the water. That hasn't happened, yet, but the Tatula will be first on my list to look at if I decide I need another rod, which I don't, but, you know.

From: Kevin:Michigan 2/21/19

Comments:Bought this rod to match with my Daiwa Exist i just purchased with this as well. Sadly my reel didn't show up so i threw on my PENN AF1000 with 6lb FC. First bass i caught on this rod was a 5.5LB largemouth. This is an amazing stick. The cork feels great in your hands! The Balance of the rod is well shared throughout the rod. Obviously the PENN reel, is a tad bit heavier than a DAIWA EXIST. So ill update this review when i am finally able to match them. The weight of the rod feels a lot like an NRX/Steez rod. I have owned both, but the price tag is a lot different!! I recommend this rod to any avid fisherman who isn't trying to break the bank. Hope this review helps you out, but you are reading this review. You're that much closer to buying this rod.

From: Ryan - 12/23/18

Comments:Really nice stick. Got 7'6" mml, paired with 2500 tatula lt. Go figure that tatula balances well with tatula. Rated from 3/16 oz. but i casted micro cranks around 1/32 oz. no problem quite a distance. I wont praise sensitivity because every single graphite stick on the market is so sensitive you can feel a blade turning on 1 size aglia. Looking for longer rod that balances well with lighter reel? This is good choice
