Top waterRod has a lot more whip than fury. I use it to throw smaller top water baits. No need for expensive rod when you don't need to feel it to know you got a bite.

Awesome Crankbait rod!Bought this during the Black November sale, killer deal! Awesome crankbait rod. Sensitivity is really good and the action does a great job of keeping fished pinned and landed. I own 3 Maverick series rods and will likely add to that as I find the need to expand my arsenal of bass gear.

Great Rod. But the Fury is better.I purchased a Maveric 705CB as a second CB rod. I have a Fury 705 CB I use for a lot of lures. Of course crankbaits. But anything with treble hooks. I love the Fury rod. I caught my PB LMB on it this year. I got tired of having to take off my regular lures to fish my topwater. So I decided to get another CB rod to use just for my topwater. I was going to get another Fury but decided to try a Maveric and save myself $29.99. I haven’t caught any big fish with the Maveric yet. But I have caught a number of 2-poundish bass. And have cast it hundreds of times. I feel confident in saying I can tell the difference between the Fury and Mavoric. It is hard to put into words. But I will try. One word that comes to mind about the Fury is smoother. It cast better, further, but not by much. I do think I can feel a difference in the blanks between the two rods. Now if someone would tell me it is the same blank I will feel like an idiot and wonder why I feel a difference. So what is the bottom line on the Maveric? I won’t say I regret getting it. It is a very nice rod. And if I didn’t have a Fury to compare it to I would be thrilled. And I am. But I do think, for me the Fury is worth the extra $30. But I think you could buy the Maveric and be totally happy with it and get years of joy fishing it catching lots of fish with it. If you are in the market to get a crankbait rod I think you would be happy with a Maveric. If you have another $30, consider a Fury.
