Comments: Both the 842 and 852 are incredible rods. Both are great for any finesse application. The 842 SJR rod is an excellent tube, Jerkbait, jig, light t-rig, and top water rod, and one of my favorite spinning rods ever. To the person's complaining review below me, I see some issues. They didn't read the G. Loomis site regarding sending in their broken rod, just send the 8" logo part of the rod, not the whole thing. I've had 5 Loomis rods warranties go through without an issue. People should review here, not complain about covid shortages. Enjoy fishing!

Comments: Not a fan of the IMX pro 852s and the Gloomis warrenty ( not tackle warehouse) is terrible. I have had 2 IMX - pro 852s. Rod number one broke on a hookset the first time fishing with it and after waiting 6 months to get it warrantied because of the corona backup I received a new one. I got to fish with it for about a year before this rod also broke around an inch apart from the break on the first rod (6 - 12 inches from the tip of the rod). As for when the rod is not broken it is just ok defiantly not worth the $365 they want to charge it is too heavy and not sensitive enough for most light worm applications even though it is rated down to 1/8. I defiantly recommend the 7' medium shimano expride or the megabass whipsnake for spinning or going to a casting set up for anything heavier. The second time the rod broke while it was being shipped (thanks UPS) so I had to start the warranty process all over again and this time it was not as pleasant. Both of these warranties were through Gloomis not tackle warehouse. Tackle warehouse has a fantastic warranty process where you are protected, Shimano / Gloomis not as nice. Either way I was told by a Gloomis rep to send this rod after explaining my situation. Two weeks later I am told I owe 150 dollars to buy the same rod because shipping a rod is not covered by warranty, would have been nice to know before I shipped it across the country for 80 dollars. I then asked if I could switch out rod with another one for equal or less value, a different size ( something you can do at Tackle warehouse). No again for that. After this call I will not be buying any shimano products (except the yamamotto worms they are too good not to use).

Comments: 842 SJR is my all time favorite spinning rod. For me the taper of the SJR rods is like the taper of the MBR rods in so far as it's great for tons of applications. It's a great rod for smallies, as well as largemouth, and walleye. Super nice crisp blanks, and really well put together.

Comments: These are easily one of the most underrated rods in the Gloomis line up. Much lighter than the E6X, much more sensitive than an E6X, with the crisp action of the GLXs. One of my favorite rods to have on the deck of my boat at all times is the 822 DSR as well as the 802s JWR. If your looking for the ultimate heavier ned rig rod, the 802 is tough to beat... A++ from me, I will continue to buy these rods until they're no longer made!

Comments: I really wish they would still make the regular imx.. The colour scheme (red wraps) pair perfectly with the stradic ci4+. And many other reels. I hate the busyness of the "imxpro" logo as well...of course this is just me being picky about aesthetics but I have never and probably will never see a classier looking combo than the "now old" imx paired with the stradic ci4+. I'm sure the "pro" is just as great or better in reguards to performance but if youre the kind of person that enjoys the look of your set up as much as the performance the "old" imx will never be beat IMO.
