Comments: I bought this reel on sale and it has proven to be a great purchase. The reel casts a country mile and the retrieve ratio is perfect for swimbaits and crankbaits. I use the reel for salt water fishing and it has handled giant Calico bass and white seabass with no issue. The large line capacity (200 size) assures you have enough line when the giants hit and the long handle makes it easy to horse them in. My only gripe with the reel is that the breaking system is touchy and you really have to dial it in to get a perfect, backlash free cast. Once dialed in however, and the reel is magic. I know own two bb1 pros and recommend them for your swimbait and big fish needs.

Comments: This reel is an absolute must have in your arsenal it's " larger" than some of the slim profile reels but feels great in hand (I have smaller than average hands as well and it's no problem at all). I have it paired with a Daiwa DX Reaction rod (7'3 Heavy) and it may be the best cranking rod/reel I've ever owned. The 6:1 gear ratio keeps deep diving cranks in the strike zone forever and has no wear on your hands/wrists even after 4-5 hours of cranking. Exceptional reel and worth every penny.

Comments: A larger reel, but works well with big hands. I love the way it palms, but smaller hands would be an issue. Huge spool for tons of line. This is hands down my farthest casting reel, even with just small to mid size crankbaits. I have yet to find a way to backlash this reel. Used hard for a year so far with zero signs of slowing down, rained on, dropped, frozen, submerged, this is a BEAST. Good luck finding a better heavy duty cranking reel

Comments: It's bulky to be comfortable in your hand cranking all day considering that's the main purpose this reel was designed for. Now as far as bb1 pro goes by far best cranking reel you will ever put in your hands the extended handle and drag out alarm are two of the best features on this reel. Def recommend to anyone looking for a cranking reel if you are throwing other moving baits or plastics may want a lower profile.

Comments: I was really looking forward to this reel because Lews doesn't have many options in the 6.2:1 gear ratio, I picked it up primarily for square bills, it does well with square bills and rattle traps. My only complaint is I'm so used to using Pro Ti's and hypermags that this BB1 Pro just feels bulky in my hand, not a deal breaker I still like it a lot I just wish it was as slim and low profile as my other Lews Reels.

Comments: I bought this reel last month and I like casting feel and brake functionality. I've been using shimano 21 scorpion DC which is more expensive than this but I have less chances of backlash with this lew's reel so far. One big disappointing issue was its looking. The photo shows the metallic surface but real one is matte material. If you like the photo, check out youtube video regarding this reel before purchase.
