Comments: I bought this reel for fishing big Swimbaits in Florida as well as an inshore reel for Snook and Redfish. I have a Shimano Tranx 300 and a Diawa Lexa HD 300 but I prefer the Lew's Superduty 300 over both of them because it's lighter and more compact while still having the same line capacity. The dual breaking system on this reel is incredible and I've fished this reel for about 3 years now without the slightest hint of an issue. I have this reel paired up with a 7'6 Extra heavy Shimano Expride B and it's a phenomenal Swimbait setup. I throw mostly soft Swimbaits like the WCZ Citizen and 6" Scottsboro and 3:16 Swimbaits. As long as you maintain your reels and clean and lube them every year you will love this reel and I highly recommend it

Comments: Love this reel. I use it for bigger top waters like the SB125 and 150s. With 50# braid, you can send the bait into another area code. The other great thing is with larger spool, you take up line fast and get the bait moving at the end of a long cast. Adjust those internal brakes to get it dialed in. A great reel at any price point.

Comments: Just bought one of these over Christmas to throw swimbaits and A-rigs. Works great. Spooled with 20 lb mono and a Dobyns 806. Really happy with it so far. Still getting brakes dialed in but DD coming soon. Who doesn't love that DD. Tight lines.

Comments: I took this out and tested it for large Swimbait application. I only buy Lews reels and this one didn't disappoint. I cast half the spool of 25 flouro with little effort. Smooth, light and comfortable to fish with. Caught a couple decent fish and really enjoyed it overall 10/10.

Comments: I own 4 of these reels and use for striper and bass throwing small 4.8 swimbaits, large swimbaits, glides, A rig, and topwater with 65lb braid on a Dobyns 795, 796, and 806 from the smallest 1oz to larger 10oz baits this reel throughs excellent and I love the handle. I still own 2 of the older green Curado 300's and prefer the slimmer, smaller, lighter Lew's reel, I have not tried the Tranx to compare but sold my Calcutta's once I bought my first Super Duty 300. I will be buying 2 more this year and retiring my Curado's

Comments: I bought this reel for throwing big swimsuits and A-rigs for striped bass.  This reel is absolutely amazing for the price.  It is smooth, has good line capacity, and the power handle is one of the best I have fished with.  This reel will handle big fish very well.  First trip out caught a 19lb striper!  The drag clicks like a spinning reel, which at first I thought I wouldnt like...but it is not loud like a bait clicker and I actually like it a lot!  Hard to beat this reel for the price.

Comments: I own a 7:2:1 with the over sized power handle. I paired it with the lews super duty 2 rod 7'11. I use it for casting A Rigs to striper. I have used it two season and average catching 15-20 striper ranging from 5-12 pounds most trips. So far the reel has performed flawlessly. It is light weight but powerful and handles the run of striper well.

Comments: Best reel for a-rig and big spoon. Pair this with a superduty 2 rod and 20lbs fluorocarbon and you have yourself a big bait set up. No problem with this reel and i own two and have one hard fish season on it. The drag clicking is different but i like it. Just like a spinning reel so it doesn't bother me.

From: Phong: 6/30/20

Comments: I bought two of these on TW's black Friday sale a 7:2:1 and the 6:5:1. The 6:5:1 straight out of the box it had a bit of a grind but didn't think to much of it. Tied on an A-Rig and fished it for two days, by the end of the day the reel felt awful it had a hard grind and almost a clunking feel to it. I contacted TW and they switched it out for a shimano Tranx 301a which is what I should have bought the first time. The 7:2:1 so far still feels pretty good its not butter smooth like the tranx but still a solid feeling reel and the winn grib knobs are pretty awesome.
