Many Goods, Few Big CaveatsI have both Medium and Medium Heavy, and after comparing with similar specs on various brands in one piece, these rods act a power above their rating. I will not be jerkbaiting on this medium and nor will be throwing chatterbait on medium heavy. I will run at least 0.30-0.33 mm line (~12-15 lb mono or 15-17 lb fluoro) on medium and a step higher for medium heavy. Unless you loose some drag, the bend transfers so easily to the backbone due to the said additional hinges - to keep in mind. Overall, these rods are more powerful than they are because of the hinges that connects, which is almost natural to all travel rod makes (except megabass I presume). With that power in mind, I will not have a problem throwing 3/0 4 inch swimbait setting up the hook and not actually bending a small 1/0 ewg on texas rig fishing inshore on socal fishery because of moderate action. I think medium throws 1 oz total weight comfortable, although I would not go beyond that. Medium heavy - max 1.5 oz comfortably. I have not tested heavy and seems you can throw beyond 1.5 oz given the leverage from the extra length Another problem I have is with the seating position. The trigger is way too behind and too short, so I do not recommend holding the reel with index finger above the reel screwlock, which has been my preferred holding position. If you have smaller hand, you want to hold the reel like holding a clamp - thumb on the top of the reel, index finger right under the reel screwlock, 2 fingers just in front of the trigger. I don't like this, but this seems to be the best hand positioning. If I have to pick one, pick medium rod - it's a best all arounder.

Maiden voyage - FloridaThis rod worked great inshore with a weedless spoon for my first ever redfish, and using weedless frogs in Broward County canals for my first ever bullseye snakehead! Feels light and looks great. Love it!
