Overview

Designed with versatility in mind, the Shimano Convergence D Casting Rods are crafted to meet the needs of multi-species anglers without breaking their budget. The Convergence Rods come redesigned with premium carbon blanks for a lightweight foundation that makes casting a line from sunup to sundown a user-friendly experience. Not only do the blanks help to shed weight, but they are also engineered to be ultra-sensitive to enable anglers to detect the lightest bites.

Building off of the impressive blanks, the Shimano Convergence D Casting Rods are outfitted with industry-leading componentry to deliver a true “go anywhere, do anything” rod. Running up the blank is a train of SeaGuide Aluminum Oxide guides to offer precise and quiet casts every time you launch a lure. Moving down the blanks anglers will find a convenient hook keeper just in front of the prime cork handles that offer a comfortable, durable, and secure grip. Completed with Fuji reel seats that offer generous blank exposure to maximize sensitivity, the Shimano Convergence D Casting Rods are a smart choice for the adventurous angler looking to hook up with any predator their water has to offer.

6.6 Med heavy Convergence casting rod.I've had my Convergence for two years now, caught about 40 or 50 largemouth with it up to four pounds. It's not a St Croix or Loomis by any means, but it's a nice rod for 70$. It could be a little stiffer, it feels more like somewhere between a medium & a med heavy. Mostly jig fishing with it. I prefer cork handles & these are very comfortable. I would have liked to go with a more expensive rod, but this fit my retiree budget. Overall, I'm happy with it, give it 4 stars.

Surprised me …So I know it’s ridiculous, but I actually only bought the rod because I’m always using watermelon with red flake, and this rod has red flakes in it. It’s a cheap rod so I didn’t expect much from it. But it definitely has surprised me. I have it on a Tatula Elite, and use it for smaller (6”) speed worms. And I’ve caught a ton of fish on it and had zero problems so far. I got the 7’ medium. It’s pretty soft action which is good because it casts smaller stuff pretty good. And sensitive enough to not have a sensitivity problem. For the price it’s put in some damn good work.
