Overview

Forged from over 30 years of Curado performance, the Shimano Curado 200 M Casting Reel leverages Shimano’s most advanced technologies to provide the ultimate casting reel performance for power fishing techniques. Increased line capacity comes without compromise, the Curado 200 M Casting Reel features a MagnumLite(MGL) Spool III, which reduces start-up inertia for unparalleled casting performance, especially when targeting trophy caliber fish with large baits like umbrella rigs, big jigs, deep cranks, and oversized frogs. SilentTune technology also improves spool quietness during casts while the SVS Infinity braking system provides precision casting performance with easy to manage brake force adjustments when faced with demanding conditions and switching between baits.

Delivering strength and durability that has made the Curado line-up a staple for hardcore anglers, the Curado 200 M Casting Reel is built with an aluminum HAGANE Body that produces a rigid foundation and houses X-Ship technology, as well as MicroModule Gears, which work in conjunction to create ultra-smooth cranking and transfer of power that is unparalleled. Backed by the Cross Carbon Drag system, the Shimano Curado 200 M Casting Reel expands on the Curado’s reputation as a do-everything power fishing reel.

Great reel. This reel is like the Curado K and the Curado MGL 150 had a baby. It's a very fast spool and takes a little time to dial in and get used to, but once you do it absolutely sends it like the MGL 150, and still has the power and line capacity of the Curado K. Can do a lot with it? Pretty sweet.

Best Reel I’ve UsedExtremely smooth casting and reeling. Can work with a wide range of lures. I’ve thrown finesse jigs to big swimbaits with this and it works great for both. Super sturdy and doesn’t have any flex. Only problem I can find is the drag doesn’t have fine adjustments. Yes, it clicks and you can very clearly lower the drag or tighten it but the drag doesn’t make any major changes until the last few clicks on the star. In the last 1/4 of the drag star is where it goes from really loose drag to really tight drag. Be sure not to loosen it too much.

BUTTER!!!I could talk your head off about this reel but i won’t smoothest reel i have EVER owned and used. Fine tune braking and the rubber pieces along with the mgl spool makes this reel undoubtedly the best. The part that is important to you, the “Cons” 1. Slightly more difficult to tune than most reels 2. That’s it.

Best ReelI’ve been using this for over 6 months, hands down best reel I’ve ever used, I’ve only backlashed this thing once to the point where I’ve had to cut the line at all (not the reels fault, I just slammed it into the water) it casts a quarter mile easy and is the most smooth reel on the market + sounds amazing.

A Better Curado K!Better than the Curado K in every way for me. Cast lighter baits much better and seems to be less fussy across the whole weight range. Seems to cast all weights a bit further than the K. I prefer the MGL 150 for most applications, but for 17lb+ flouro applications, this reel is worth consideration. Great big swimbait, Alabama rig, and XD cranking reel.

Smoothest Reel I’ve ever usedI’ve had a Shimano DC for almost a year and liked it, but the Curado M is way smoother than the Curado DC. Worth every penny.

Great caster!I have had almost every generation of Curado starting with the B series, citicas, Tatulas, revos. The Curado K is/was an amazing reel. This is everything the K was without the fuss. I found it hard to backlash and it absolutely bombs!! SVS dial on 1, 2 brake blocks on, and cast control you your liking and it will send a 1/2oz frog 60 yards. I can turn around and pitch effortlessly and skip with precision without adjusting anything. This and the 150 mgl are all you need. Highly recommend!

Comments: Wheres the line capacity? This 200 size holds less (40yds less than 12) than the Daiwa 150. People like me that throw 20# have to buy daiwa when I would prefer shimano.
