Overview
Designed with Gulf Coast and Southern California Spotted Bay Bass anglers in mind, the Shimano Tranx 150 Casting Reel expands the Tranx family of low-profile casting reels with a versatile offering perfect for lighter inshore presentations. A saltwater workhorse built to resist flexing during tough battles, Shimano’s Hagane Body enhances overall smoothness by housing the internal components within a rigid metal frame. The smallest offering in the Tranx lineup, the 150-size delivers the palmability of its freshwater counterparts but offers increased durability for saltwater environments.
Ensuring water beads up and rolls off the reel to reduce water intrusion, CoreProtect technology uses a protective coating applied to critical areas to deliver added durability for chasing inshore gamefish. A compact casting reel with an inherent desire to be a glutton for punishment, the Tranx 150 boasts enhanced stopping power by utilizing a Cross Carbon drag material to deliver smooth and dependable drag performance. Packed with a host of Shimano’s cutting-edge technologies, the Shimano Tranx 150 Casting Reel is the ideal low-profile reel for anglers who demand more from their equipment for inshore applications.

Comments: I bought one in December and used it this winter with Damiki vaults. Serious cranking power and smooth

Comments: I have to agree with this being a phenomenal reel for castability. It's not labeled as a reel to throw finesse baits but I can throw a 3 inch swimbait on this really well. The cast is quiet, hard to backlash, and the retrieve is very smooth. It's also up to the task of throwing 3/8 and 1/2 oz. swim jigs and similar equally well. It's a great well-rounded reel.

Comments: have 3 of the curado mgl 150..tranx 150 clearly same profile with different colors/finishes and less mgl spool. the curado mgl is an outstanding reel..cats like a bullet even down to 1/4 oz BUT!! For some reason, which I cannot figure out this tranx casts even better!! even without the MGL spool... absolutely outstanding reel...I use it for bass fishing in freshwater...will never touch saltwater...expect it to outlast me... an absolute pleasure to cast...typical Shimano performance.... highly recommended

Comments: Bought this reel to go with a Dobyns 736C rod. Solid like a tank and very smooth on the cast and retrieve. Very pleased with the performance so far. Shimano quality is evident from design to performance. Highly recommend.
