Comments: I keep a couple 68mxf Victories around for jerkbaits, small chatters and as backup fluke combos. I keep them around for one reason; they're unbelievably lightweight and nicely balanced for the price. If I'm using a Legend X or an NRX then swap over to a victory combo, the difference in weight is essentially imperceptible, which is EXACTLY what I'm looking for with moving baits. I recommend these rods if you fit into one of the following categories: 1.) You are looking to try an ultra lightweight rod without spending a fortune. 2.) You want a nicely built, easygoing mid priced combo. 3.) You are a high end rod guy who doesn't want to dedicate a $1000 conquest combo to an application that just doesn't require quantum sensitivity.

Comments: I have a few different Victory rods. The jerkbait rod is great. It also is good for throwing topwater baits or small crankbaits. My review is mostly about the 710XXHF swimbait rod. While these are marketed by a lot of shops as being more for soft baits with jig hooks and the Bass X rods for soft baits, the Victory 710XXH is also not bad for throwing hard baits. As is usually the case with St. Croix's rods, it is somewhat more moderate than rods with similar specs from other manufacturers. It has just enough whippiness to work a glide bait well, but I would recommend definitely only using it for baits with heavy wire hooks as I think it would easily bend out lighter ones. It definitely also excels at throwing soft jig hook baits. It behaves quite similarly to the Loomis IMX Pro 966 swimbait rod, and it's an easy rec from me as a more affordable alternative to that rod.

Comments: I've got the 7'1" MHF (Grunt) and paired it with a Shimano Chronarch 7.1 reel. I own several Zodias and Expride rods. I'm very impressed with this Victory rod. Very light weight, sensitivity is excellent, very crisp and just a true workhorse. St Croix has done a great job with this line of rods.

From: William: McDonough, Ga 12/27/22

Comments: I also have the 7'3" MH F and 7'3" H XF like "Unknown" from Texas and I mostly agree with have comments. I think the action on the MH F is on the slower side of fast. I think the sweet spot for lure weight is 3/8oz -3/4oz total, I've throw a 1/2oz chatterbait (.95oz w/ trailer) on this rod but prefer other rods. I put 12# fluoro on it and use if for chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, wobbleheads. I've also used it for squarebills and traps but I prefer other rods. I've also used it for t-rigs and fixed head jigs but prefer the H XF for those applications. The H XF is medium heavy and the action is a lot faster than the other VIctory but slower than a XF from Loomis. The weight range is similar to the other Victory

Comments: I purchased the 6'8 jerkbait rod, and it's fantastic. The blank loads up very well and helps keep that fish pinned. It handles the Vision 110s perfectly, and handles the 110 Jr's good enough. Anything under 3/8oz is too light, and it doesn't have enough backbone for the Ito Shiners. But that 7/16-1/2 oz range is perfect for it.

Comments: Long time St. Croix patron, they did a great job on this series and at this price point. I have many St. Croix from most of the different lines and was excited about these new models. I own the 7'4" Heavy Fast (Full Contact) and it has been a great rod this season. Lightweight, sensitive, and the ratings seem true. I've been using it mainly with 15# fluoro and it has performed well with a wide weight range of football jigs, Carolina rigs, medium-large swimbaits. Also used for larger topwaters for stripers. I'm looking forward to trying a frog on it this Fall. My fishing partner has the 7'10" Heavy Mod (Mid-Cranker) and it is one of the best open water cranking rods I've ever used. Made in USA and St. Croix has some of the best warranty and customer service in the business.

From: Jinx: East Tennessee 8/13/22

Comments: I bought this in April 2022 to use as a worm rod. I'm simply not impressed. The rod is too stiff and has no feel for making accurate casts. Feels like a flipping stick. The handle feels too short and the trigger is uncomfortable. I own multiple DOBYNS, including a Champion and a Kaden. Those rods are vastly superior. In short, I do not like this rod and I regret buying it.

From: Dan: Naples, FL 6/6/22

Comments: I have the 7'4" Heavy Fast. It is an excellent rod at its price point. Very light, very sensitive. I don't understand why the hook keep is below the reel. I found that to be a very inconvenient place, sticking myself many times, and wonder if that was ever usage tested? It is unusable, and for now, I secure my lure on the eyelet closest to the reel.

From: Paul: Plano, TX. 4/11/22

Comments: I bought both The Marshall and the Full Contact Finesse for my youngest son last year. The Full Contact Finesse is a killer rod for jigs and carolina rigs. It's very light and the sensitivity is well above it's price point (it's pretty close to the Expride and certainly well ahead of many rods at the same price point). The Marshall is essentially the all-around workhorse that can also throw jigs and C-Rigs, but is a great rod for T-Rigs, Chatterbaits, Spinnerbaits, paddle tail swimbaits, swim jigs, and so forth. The Marshall definitely is a fast tip, but is less of a broomstick than the classic St Croix MH/F rods (other than the Grunt which isn't too far off from the M/F in other lines). I have been very impressed with both rods. From my experience, at this price point the quality/price ratio usually starts to diminish but that is not at all true with the Victory line, they are worth every penny over slightly cheaper rods.

Comments: k so I purchased the 7'2 mhm which fit my needs.. at first I thought It was just going to be like a wet noodle and wasn't going to work. I put some fish on it and wow so impressed with this rod...so impressed I ordered a 7'1" mhf and the 7'3" mhf...so I have 3 and love everyone of them. I have the mhm paired with a steez,12lb Tatsu and a weightless wacky and it just loads up perfect..it's also very good for med to shallow crankbaits. The 7'3" is also paired with a steez, 15lb tatsu for chatter baits3/8 Oz (Thunder cricket) The 7'1" I alternate with the MhM depending on weather I'm throwing weightless... Personally if I had 1 of the 3 to choose I would get the 7'1". To me, it's the best all around one to get. 1 thing to note, the mhf rods are NOT the same blanks with one being 2" longer. It is a much stiffer at 7'3"...

Comments: St Croix has finally put out a rod where a MH feels like a MH, not a heavy in disguise like my Avid X. I purchased the 7'1MH Grunt and it is an awesome rod. It is very light, sensitive and comfortable to fish. My only negative would be that I wish the guides were smaller, but thats just personal preference.

From: Unknown: 7/24/21

Comments: Got the 7'4" Heavy Fast as a jig rod, it is an awesome setup and this is my favorite rod I have ever owned. Has been great especially flipping in heavy weeds, highly recommend this rod.

From: Unknown: 6/19/21

Comments: I have about 8 St Croix rods and use them for bass and Snook from the Mojo Bass and Inshore, the Avid inshore and now the 7'1" MH Victory. I don't know exactly how they mixed the different blanks to make this rod but whatever they did worked out fantastic. I (like one of the other guys that commented) fish with an Expride and agreed 100% it's incredibly sensitive but the Victory is right up there with it and actually more comfortable to fish. This is now my absolute favorite rod to fish. It's incredibly light with a super comfortable grip and itâs kind of unique because it has a very light tip but gets into the backbone very quickly. This rod feels like a mix between a medium and a medium heavy which I love. I use this for a chatter bait rod but it's actually the best all purpose rod I've ever used. I am extremely excited to see St Croix move forward with this technology. The future is very bright for St Croix with this technology. They knocked it out of the park with this Victory series especially at the $200 price point and the best part about it is it's made in the USA. Phenomenal job St Croix!! PS please launch a 7'6" punching rod with a sensitive tip and HEAVY BACKBONE!!!

From: Smitt: Jupiter, FL 5/27/21

Comments: Bought the 7'3 mh and using it for spinnerbaits, it's much lighter than their legend series and I like it better, my rod has no issues and performs perfectly I'd highly recommend the victory series especially at this price.

From: Jill: Ormond Beach, FL 4/12/21

Comments: I have both "The Marshall" (7'3 MH F) and "Full Contact Finesse" (7'3 H XF). Both rods fit and finish are amazing. The reel seat is very comfortable and for a St Croix it's balanced. The rod is surprisingly sensitive for the price and I could feel all my bites in 20+ mph winds. I mostly fish with Exprides and these rods are more comfortable and lighter with slightly less sensitivity but for $80 less. The Marshall does everything I've fished spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and t-rigs on it with success. The full contact finesse is a beast of a jig and dragging bait rod. For the price you can't beat this rod.

From: Unknown: Texas 4/1/21

Comments: I received the 7'2" Med Hvy Mod recently, and my initial impression is that this rod is absolutely fantastic, especially for the price. I primarily have St Croix rods in the higher end series, and I'm shocked at the weight and feel of this rod in comparison. In the two times I had it out so far, I fished squarebills on it, and it was perfect. I can't wait to get it out on the water again to fish a chatterbait with it. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting another one in the not too distant future.

From: TJ: Indiana 4/7/21

Comments: Just received my rod today, was very excited for it and had high hopes. Unfortunately, tackle warehouse sent me a defective rod. The reel seat wasn't even glued or secured to the rod as it slides up and down the blank freely. You think they'd inspect these kinds of things before sending them off but apparently not. I will be returning mine and sticking with my Tatula rods. I don't believe this rod is 100% handmade like st croix so claims. For if it was I don't see how my particular rod would have been sent off to be sold with a loose reel seat that literally rattles if you shake the rod. Very disappointed and will not be buying another st croix. They definitely do not make the best rods on earth.
