Be WarnedI bought the 600 yard, 16lb line and spooled 3 spinning reels with it and went to prefish a tournament at Lake Havasu, and I am very glad the issues I experienced were BEFORE the tournament... In a span of two days I experienced the following: - right after spooling my first reel, I was tying my leader (8lb floro) with an Alberto knot, and as I went to pull the knot tight the braid line right ABOVE the knot broke... I didn't really think anything of it, perhaps I somehow damaged the line. I retied with no issue. - on my second reel, as I was tying my Alberto knot, it slipped twice – but I knew the knot would work because I had just tied it. This line diameter is MUCH smaller (and smoother) than the braid line I had before, so I considered that growing pains of getting used to the new line. I took my time on the third attempt and had no issues. - my third reel had no issues while spooling or with the leader knot. I was casting a 1/4 oz. underspin and all seemed to be going well. My casts were smooth and a bit further than with my previous braid. After about 2 hours of casting, I went to make a cast and the line broke below the leader knot – the knot did not fail, it was the braid. I run about a 10 foot floro leader so the odds of the line getting damaged that high up the line are very slim. I retied with an Alberto knot which seemed successful and continued fishing. After another 30 minutes or so, the knot failed. OK… retied with a double uni knot because something about my Alberto was not working. Uni knot worked and I fished the rest of the day with no issues on this reel. (only 2 small fish caught, about 1.5lbs each) On one of my other reels, I had a small jerkbait that also weighed ¼ oz. I was casting that for about 30 minutes and I decided to just check my knot, and it pulled right apart! Retied with a double Uni and as I was casting, the line broke above the knot AGAIN. Thankfully, my lure was floating so I was able to retrieve this one… After that I stripped all 3 reels and spooled new braid. Talking with some guys who were also in that tournament, they also fish this line and love it and have had no issues... Maybe I got a bad batch? Bad Quality Control? I don’t know, but I was not happy.

After trying everything it’s the best PE...this line is really something else, I have tried dozens of others and this actually does FEEL noticeably different. Strong current, Wind, it literally doesn’t matter you are WIRED to your bait with barely any bow in the line no matter what. Now yes due to how thin and hard the line is it bites through the monk when tying leader knots so FG is really your only option but I found that just getting a micro swivel and tying to that with 1.5ftish of leader is perfect cuz it won’t go through your guides and if you tie the braid to the swivel with a polymer not that is going to be stronger than any other leader connection. Also when spoiling onto the reel put the line spool in a bucket of water!!! Label up so it doesn’t twist!!! and it will stay buoyant and be packed on tight. Now this is a 5x strand and technically 4x because 4 strands are wrapped around the 5th so it isn’t super smooth, makes minor noise when coming through the guides under tension but overall it doesn’t make a difference and with it being made like this each strand is beefier so ultimately your getting the best “abrasion resistance” out of the comparable PE lines. Finally I mainly used the 22lb for casting spoons 16lb for ultralight, but all the others under 13lb do get insanely thin and that’s what your paying for at that level, don’t buy one of the thinnest lines money can buy if strength is what you want… go buy power pro or something then lol

Very disappointingI’ve had more breakage issues with the 7# Almight than I ever thought possible. I have used Sunline SX1 in 8# and other small-diameter braided lines like D Braid and 832 for years with no issues. I dumped the rest of the Almight — I just cannot deal with the constant breakage issues. I just hope Sunline never stops making the SX1!

WIND KNOTSSave your breath this crap makes wind knots like crazy biggest waste of money, I’d rather fish power pro.

Good lineLol I have no idea what everyone is doing to break their line. I fish saltwater and finessed some nice sized fish (jacks, snook, gator trouts, etc) in and never had a problem. Either use uni/uni knot or FG knot. People need to tune their drag instead trying to horse fish in. I use the 10lb test or PE 0.4. It's worth it.

TrashI have bought 3 spools of this stuff one being the 600 yard 16lb and two of the fillers in 13 and I'm here to say it is absolute trash. It is crazy how easy this stuff breaks when tying leaders. I've tried everything to make it not break at he connections. Huge fail.

WeakUsed the 18.5 line for mid strolling and had a lot of issues. Had the line break or come undone at the braid fluoro connection knot. Never had these issues before and tie good knots. Breaks like sewing thread would not recommend.

Excellent qualityThese other folks are tying bad knots or not using their drag not sure. I’ve landed several fish over 4+lb in the last few months fishing a lake with a ton of timber and thick grass with this line in 18.5lb and I have drug fish over logs and everything and have had 0 issues to mention. It’s Sunline quality at its best. It sinks very well too almost identical sink rate as fluoro. 10/10 would recommend this line.

Breaks so easy.I totally bought into the hype and gave it an honest go. Tried 2 different spools thinking the first was just a bad spool, which happens. This line would break so easy. Lost too many good fish and lures. Even tying leaders on was brutal. At times it would take 2 or 3 tries to get a knot that wouldn’t break. You couldn’t pay me to use this line again. I’ll stick with PowerPro.

killing it with the 18.5lb stuff. hotpinkI bought this stuff thinking I could get better performance with bottom contact stuff since it is supposed to sink better. it does. I havent broken off yet, and I have landed a few biggies. I am on my second year with the same spool. the pink is fading, but I didnt expect much in that department. the line is THIN!.. and entire spool ran out on me when I was spooling up a Vanford 2500. It just came to the end! I had to take it off by putting it on a spare reel, and added much much more inexpensive mono backer to make up the diff. it is still on the low side!! I am waiting until the fade is so bad, I am compelled to reverse the spool. I will add more backer then. I typically use an Alberto knot to tie my leaders, but the FG holds great as well. my leader is 10lb Daiwa flouro leader.
