Comments: I wouldn't say this line is garbage, but it's definitely not for me. I used 12# on spinning rod with 8# leader and the knot would break at the braid or completely come unraveled. I believe it has something to do with the coating as the FG doesn't fail. Nick Lebrun swears by this line for flipping so maybe the larger diameters would work better for some. I'll stick with berkley x9 for spinning reels.

Comments: I used this line on my primary spinning reel for this entire season. I didn't have breakage issues but really didn't like the way it handled. It soon became noisy coming off the spool of a very good reel and through Torzite guides. I could tell the cast performance was decreasing and that it was getting "toothy" feeling. Multiple loops started coming off the spool as to top coils weren't slipping away smoothly. The Asegai wasn't showing whiskers, it was more that the coating or surface texture was rough. The line was never exposed to dust, cold, or high heat conditions. My rods go from an indoor gear room, straight to the boat, and then back. This line got quickly "grabby" under the best storage and usage conditions possible. On my last trip, I had to strip to vertically drop a 1/4 tungsten Ned head.

Comments: That braided line is garbage...Sunline Fluro is good but that small diameter braid tears apart like nothing..never experienced anything like that before...I don't recommend it.

Comments: Using 8lb on my Certate LT and its been amazing, casts well, keeps its color and does not fray easy like other reviews. I've used a lot of braids, powerpro ssv2, sufix 832, pline tcb 8, daiwa j-braid grand 8 and a few others not worth mentioning and out of them all the Xplasma and pline tcb 8 is the best two. I'm running 16lb Xplasma on my baitcasters and love it, I have not had any problems and recommend this line and will be purchasing more when needed.

Comments: Cutting a braided line and seeing some fraying is not a reason to leave a review. PP also "frays" when you cut it as so does 832 and so on. Anyways this line is pretty good. A little thicker than some other braids but it sure is smooth with that coating they give it and it retains its color exceptionally well. I would say that this braid is pretty "power" oriented because of the thicker diameter. The braid feels stronger than it's rating. Try it out. I think it's a great braid for the price but PP for a few bucks cheaper still makes more sense.

Comments: First off, I love Sunline fishing line and have tried their FX2, and FC sniper lines and always have confidence in their products. However; I do not have confidence in Asegai at all. I purchased the 12 pound for my spinning reel, and noticed after I tied my connection knot to my leader (FG knot), the braid was frayed already and haven't even fished the line yet. I've tried other brands of braid and never had this issue at all with the line fraying on itself. Maybe the thicker braid of this line is better, but I'm not even going to try and waste my money and time with it since I did reach out to Sunline, and followed their instructions on how to report any quality issues, and they did not even bother to follow through with replacing the line.

Comments: This stuff is pure garbage. I have fished PowerPro, Sufix 832 and even Sunline SX1, with absolutely no problems. In fact it was my experience with the SX1 that made me decide to try this line. The SX1 is rugged line, casts well and holds a knot well. And on first look and touch, this stuff is amazing. Extremely supple. Holds a knot really well. Casts a MILE! But it all ends right there. This line has shreds like toilet paper. It frays on contact with itself. Get one wind know, its over. I rarely have to retie my others lines during a fishing trip. This stuff, on my last trip, had to be retied 7 times (two rods) in one four fishing trip. I learned the hard way not to ignore a little fray, as I watched a whopper plopper fly off into a weed line of cover never to be found again on a last cast. Snapped off in the line, not at the knot. Seriously, this is extremely poor quality braid. There are much better options available than this stuff, including SX1. Steer clear of this line. It is pure garbage.

Comments: I bought a spool of 10lb in the bright green for my ds rig amd a spool of dark in 18lb for my light flip/junk rig.  Currently in love

From: Jacob: PHOENIX 12/21/18

Comments: The 12 pound Xplasma is not as supple as the SX1, but it is really good line. Thinner than SX and has great castability and great knot strength. Using it for dropshot and spybaiting I have had zero wind knots and both the FG and double uni work well with it.  Color does fade, but not nearly as quick as the SX. Well worth the price!
