St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass Spinning Rods
Overview
Built with a state-of-the-art computerized cutting machine to create precision-cut blank patterns, the St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass Spinning Rods use Taper Enhancement Technology (TET) to improve sensitivity for a wide range of fishing techniques. Built using Super High-Modulus Carbon Fiber SCIV+ blanks, the Legend Tournament series is designed with Integrated Poly Curve (IPC) tooling to eliminate transition points for added strength, smoother actions, and exceptional bite detection. The lineup also features technique-specific iACT SCIV+ and Linear S-Glass composite blanks on particular model options.
Fine-tuned with premium components including Fuji K-Series tangle-free guides with Alconite inserts, each rod is equipped with Fuji VSS reel seats for enhanced lightweight performance and incredible feel. Built 33% stronger than rods made with standard resin, long-lasting durability is achieved thanks to Advanced Reinforcing Technology (ART) with Fortified Resins (FRS). Designed and handcrafted in Park Falls USA for bass anglers worldwide, the St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass Spinning Rods are finished with model-specific hook keepers and customized super grade split/full grip cork handles.

Comments: Checks every box you could ask for in the upper 200$ range other than lightness. I strongly recommend a reel in the 8 oz range to mitigate the heavy tip. I prefer the daiwa tatula to a stradic. But on this rod, go with a shimano for balance purposes.

Comments: I had been hearing from a friend of mine how great this brand of rod is, but I was hesitant at first as I had previously purchased a Mojo Bass rod years ago and was not pleased. After some research, I decided to purchase this Legend Tournament Bass in the 7'1" MF selection. I recently used it for the first time and I am thrilled with the performance and feel of this rod. I paired it with a Shimano Vanford reel and it is light, comfortable and super sensitive. If you are looking for a great rod that performs up to the hype, this is the one.

Comments: Got my hands on the 6'8" Pinpoint rod. Super sensitive, well-balanced rod, with a Daiwa LT. Used it for a few soft plastic applications and have really enjoyed the accuracy and sensitive feel of this rod. As an added bonus, the finish is beautiful too. If only that detail put more fish in the boat.

Comments: I have the 7' 3" Medium XF. St. Croix did it, a very balanced rod, that is also extremely light and sensitive. This particular rod has a ML tip section with M+ backbone, extremely versatile. Finally...an American made $300 rod that matches the Expride! Or should I say is better, this rod has a 15-yr warranty, which crushes the Expride warranty. I have many many Exprides and love them, now there is an American made option at the same price point with a better warranty that matches the balance, weight, feel and sensitivity.
