My favoriteAt 50 y/o and being from Alabama, the 6’8 medium/fast is my go to shaky head rod at Smith lake. It has all I need for those spots. I like it better than the $269 GLoomis I got for Christmas. Really, a rod is about what feels best and most comfortable in your hands. For me it’s the St. Croix MoJo series.

Mojo-Bass reviewGreat Drop-shot rod, very comfortable and balanced. The trigon grip eliminates hand pain from long hours of digging into your reel or reel seat.

Poor customer service at St CroixBought a St Croix Mojo Bass 2-piece medium spinning rod last year from TW while they were on sale due to St Croix discontinuing the line of rods. Have 6 St Croix rods, like them all and took a chance on buying the rod being phased out. 2 days ago I broke the top part of the rod and called St Croix customer service to see what my options were for replacing the top blank on the rod. I had to wait 30 minutes for them to pick up and listened to endless commercials on how they will assist customers with any year of rod to get them back in the water as soon as possible. The customer service guy said the rod is no longer being made, there were no spare parts currently available and guessed that it would probably be at least February until they would get replacement blanks ( and that was just a guess). For $40 he would put my name on a list but there was no guarantee when it would come in next year since priority is being given to rods still in production. I told him this option sucked and was there anything else he could do. He said that here was nothing more he could do but that he would send me a link to their warranty department and perhaps they could help. Went to the link and provided 3 photos they requested of broken rod and submitted them electronically. Got message back that it would take 20 to 25 days before they could respond to my email. Tried calling customer service back and got a message that due to heavy line traffic I should leave a voicemail message and they would call me back when they could. Owned St Croix rods for over 25 years and never encountered this type of customer service before. Beware if you buy a St Croix rod. The new rods from Japan are starting to look pretty good to me and think they are surpassing St Croix in quality.

Biggest Downgrade in Bass Fishing HistoryThese things suck. What a major downgrade from the old Mojo Series. Stay away.. spend the extra $20ish on a Victory. Bad move by St. Croix with this series.

I Don't Want To Say ThisI am a big fan of St Croix Rods. I have a number of them. I had a Mojo Bass MJS68MXF. I loved that rod. Sadly I broke it. Totally my fault. But St Croix always wants to make their customers happy. This was right when the new Trigon rods came out. I was expecting an original model as I assumed they kept some back for warranty replacements. But nope. They sent me one of the new Trigon rods. My first impression was not good. The blank is perfect just like the original. The guides I like better. So what was the problem. The handle. Not a fan of the triangle. And it feels so cheep. Feels like a piece of trash. I have had $60 rods that had a nicer handle on it. I have heard some people are having tightening up their reel on them. At first I did as well but I moved the reel around and it set in and I was able to tighten it. but I thought it was going to break. I kept waiting to do this review because I did not want to say anything bad about St Croix. But I have to be honest. And the price they are charging now for these rods. They have put them out of my reach. Charge more for a cheaper feeling rod? I don't think so. I guess I am going to be buying other rods if they stick with these handles. How could they not see how cheap these handles are? And their pro staff. Seriously. How do you rant and rave about these? Makes me question your integrity.
