Comments: Bought the 7'10 medium mod-fast for tube fishing. Really the best tube rod I've ever bought. I love the action on it. Fast hook area but a lot of forgiveness on deep runs and big fish. Really excels with tube heads from 1/8 oz - 3/8 oz. Really amazing rod from at croix. I wished they put better guides on this model for the price but with the durability and sensitivity, can't complain.

Comments: I bought a handful of the spinning rods when first introduced. All medium rated, I noticed I was losing more fish than usual. Just not enough back. Went to the 7'1 MH model and things changed. Now I have 2 of them BUT after less than a year I'm noticing the components are trash. The cork on both rods is falling apart and the tip on the one rod came loose. I like the blank but not sure if I'll be buying another one. I'll stick to my Powell's.

Comments: I used the 6'10 model for drop shots. It is an incredibly light rod and very sensitive. A lot of people say they are losing fish. I never have yet. If you are fishing for smallmouth or even largemouth you almost always skin hook them. That is where the soft tip of the rod and a good drag on your reel helps keep that fish pinned. I like the 6'10 because naturally shorter rods are more sensitive and in the wind there isn't as much bow in your line so that helps with sensitivity too. It's a St. Croix so if you break it you get a new one. Get one today!

Comments: The reel seat and how light the 6' 10" MLXF is what lured me to this rod. I was dead-set on a Daiwa Tatula, but this St Croix Victory rod is not like other St. Croix rods I've handled. The blank isn't a beefstick, It's light, on par my 7 MHF Shimano Zodias. Unfortunately, it's a wimpy rod, braid to leader is a must using an Owner sz 1 mosquito hook, but like others I've lost far too many good fish, in and out of tournaments. I tried straight 6lb fluoro and I couldn't keep a panfish hooked. I did have success using it as a popper rod, so it maybe regulated to treble hook duties, but the price tag is way over-budget for this technique. If I did it all over again, I should have stuck with the Tatula and avoided St. Croix all together.

Comments: Like the other reviews say, I've lost a ton of fish right after the hook set. It just will not drive the hook in. If you are using a treble hook than no problems. That being said the rod is super light and super smooth. I find myself picking it up even after losing fish.

Comments: I bought the 7'10 M to finesse swimbait at long distance. This rod is too soft to stick a fish with a moderate sized swim bait head at distance. I was using medium gauge wire 1/0 hooks. However of the light baits with treble looks were dynamite. Make lemonade out of lemons folks.

Comments: I'm a St.Croix fan, particularly the old cork Extremes, as well as a few Tournament Legends & Avids, but the Victory series is a great rod, especially at the price-point! The hybrid SCIII- SCV blanks with nano resin results in a unique action that is slightly softer than othe SC rods, but is spot on the rating. If you are losing a lot of fish there's more to the story than the rod, unless it's the wrong rod for the application. To me, this rod feels like an upgrade from the Avid and even Tournament Legend series with no price penalty! I'd love to see the blank with a full cork handle and Alconite guides, but its still great just as it is...

Comments: I have hooked 7-8 fish and lost them all on this rod... Just this rod.. NOT my other rods. Same set-up on my Dawia Aird X, not mt Shimano SXL, not my Abu Garcia Veritas, not my Expride. The flex through the first four guides are very soft, so driving a hook into the fish mouth on drop shot can be difficult, even without a weed guard. The fish do not stay pinned. I confirmed this with St. Croix. Victory sensitivity is ok, not great, but ok.. its not like the sensitivity of my Expride. When, I put my Victory down and start using my SLX, I find myself being surprised how more sensitive the feel is with the SLX. alot of times, I feel more sensation with the SLX opposed to the Victory. On all my spinning rods, I use 10lb braid to 8lb fluorocarbon. Lastly, they told me the Victory 7'3" Medium Extra Fast was not the rod for me on a Kayak, even though St. Croix shows a guy in a Kayak fishing this rod. They stated the tip was not right for a Kayak and I should look at a Mojo Yak opposed to this rod. UPDATE: NOT FOR KAYAKS!!! Victory 7'3 medium XF... I continued to try and use the rod, continued to lose fish unless I kept the rod tip up like a candy cane. Caught a 2lb & the rod snapped in 2 places. Called St. Croix, paid $50 & now await my new Victory 6'10 XF spinning rod. Warranty process has been long!! The 7'3 Medium XF was not sensitive compared to my Expride and did not load up as well as my SLX Shimano. I fished the Victory the most to try and get better, but, it was my least favorite spinning rod...

Comments: It's a great rod for the money. They are marketed by some for how light they are in this price range. Although, they are as light as some flagship rods, they are not as balanced as most flagship rods which of course they should not be at this price point. Just don't let the weight of these rods be a deciding factor. If they stand the test of time like most Croix rods, they are definitely worth it if you're not concerned about ultimate balance and comfort.

Comments: Purchased the Med 7'3" x-fast. I normally don't leave reviews but I had to say I'm very impressed with this rod in this series mostly bank fish. I got this for "drop swimming" which is basically slapping a 3" paddle tail with a 3/16 cylinder and knocking in rocks for smallmouth. The thumps from 2lb< bass are best described as a deep vibration compared to rods of previous gens. The cork handle is great for holding in drop shot position. Though I do have it on a Carbonx 2000 for right now my knuckles do hit the bail but not the rods fault. My advice if your thinking of purchasing on in this series, You can expect performance as expected.

Comments: I bought the 6'10" MLXF and have put many trips in on it. Have fished it mostly for ned rigs, but also a bit with dropshots, small swimbaits, and small tubes. This thing is very sensitive. St. Croix could probably get away with asking more for it if they wanted. I have caught more fish than I can remember. A handful of 3 lb class largemouth and some hard pulling smallmouth. Like most of St. Croix's rods this one has more spring in the tip but more backbone where it counts compared to others with similar ratings. In this case it's a perfect mix. I foresee the Victory series obsoleting the Avid X line. It's much cheaper and the more sophisticated graphite blend is really something special here. I would recommend this particular rod to anyone looking for a dedicated finesse rod without blowing the bank.

Comments: 7'3'' MXF. Caught 20 bass, from 2 to 4 lbs. Had to drag several out of cover.Rod very sensitive, great hook sets, plenty of backbone. 10lb. braid, 8lb. leader, will cast a 4'' senko a long ways. Fit and finish is excellent. Can't beat the price.
