Comments: I bought a 7ft H and the reel seat wouldn't lock down. I sent it back and Tackle Warehouse had a replacement at my door 3 days later. This rod unfortunately had the same issue. This makes 3 out of 5 Daiwa rods that I have bought that we're defective. This time I decided to go through Daiwa, I didn't feel right costing Tackle Warehouse the money to ship it again when it was Diawa making a defective product. After learning Daiwa would require me to pay shipping for their mistakes after sending multiple defective products, I have decided to no longer use this company's products. For a company with the reputation that Diawa has, to make a rod that is completely unusable to the point that I would have more faith in a 3' kids rod, is absolutely embarrassing. And for them to have such a low standard of customer service is downright shameful. 10/10 for Tackle Warehouse customer service 0/10 for Diawa's customer service and quality control.

Comments: Had this rod for about 2 months. Solid rod. The reel seat does not lock in anymore ,it will not catch when turning.

Comments: Got the 7'3 mh rod this winter and have just started using in a lot this spring and MANNNN let me tell you this rod is nice. Have pulled some nice fish from some thick cover with it. Nice rod definitely going to get more.

Comments: Diawa Procyon. Overall great rod, feels great in hand ,very light. I'd highly recommend if your in the market for a rod but dont want to spend 200+. You honestly couldn't tell the difference between this 80$ rod and a high end 200$ one. Very impressed will be looking to purchase another soon ,gonna have to give it a 10/10. Can't beat the price!

Comments: Don't waste your money. Reel seat won't lock down, causing the reel to slide around when reeling in a fish of any size. I tried to tighten it down more, but it's stripped and keeps spinning. It could have just been the reel seat on my rod, but either way I had to retire it. Nice looking rod and loved the action, just unusable for the most part.

Comments: For $80 you can't go wrong. I have a 7ft mh with a slx xt and it's a great looking and feeling combo. I just bought a tatula sv tw103 and when that gets here I'm going to put it on this rod until my tatula elite rods get here. Is it as nice as a $200-$300 rod? No, and you'd be silly to expect that but for the price it is very nice. I'll probably get a few just to have some extra rods laying around.

Comments: Bought the daiwa procyon 7ft heavy rod paired it up with a daiwa costal very impressed, first time out 7-pound bass in heavy hydrilla this rod had no trouble getting fish out of heavy cover, well worth the money and then some, thanks for a good product for working man's price!

Comments: Bought 3 of these rods from TW 7ft heavy, 7'3 medium heavy, and 7'6 heavy. Actions on each are perfect! The rods are also lighter than expected.. guides are strong and don't bend and flex like on some of ur higher end rods. For $79 you can't beat this rod! Cant speak on the durability of this rod yet being that I've only had them a few months but so far they are the best rod I've found for around the $100 price range.

Comments: I purchased 6ft6in medium power, fast taper and 2 piece. I majorly used this for 1/4 - 3/4oz crank bait, jerkbait, spinnerbait, etc. I could barely 1-1.5oz lure, but I needed cast softly. This is my first casting rod and so far great performance without any issues. Several 4-6 pounders without any issues. Now I'm using $200 rod, but I don't see any differences other than its looking honestly... (The printed "Procyon" on the rod looks cheap a little bit) I highly recommend this to someone looking for a rod which works for multi purpose in bass fishing.

Comments: 7 mhf Totally surprised with this rod at $80. It's very light with a great action. Paired it with an SLX. One of my favorite combos for how comfortable and light weight the pairing is.

Comments: I got the 7foot medium heavy. It is such a great rod, and actually has great sensitivity. It is well balanced, and is much better than other rods in this price point. It is not a flashy rod, and only has 1 diawa logo and 1 procyon logo.

Comments: It's alright. If you're looking for a broom stick that's gonna rip them from the real thick stuff, this is it. But if you're going to be using it for anything that requires any feel or any touch of finesse, run away. The handle is super short the hook keeper is inconvenient and it is not well balanced. It has found a home as my frog rod. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.

Comments: I needed a new flippin rod, for light flipping applications, I live in Alabama not florida, and I came across this rod in the 7'4hvy an let me tell you this rod feels like some of my 150+$ rods. N handles biggins easy! If u see one grab it you won't be disappointed for $80!!

Comments: This is a great rod for the money. It's light sensitive and is very attractive.

Comments: I was looking for a rod for Black Friday and came across this, read it's specs and the reviews and I was sold, I got this rod in the mail on Thursday and I've used it 4 times already and it's a really solid rod, sensitive for 80 and it def compares to a fury or rods like that. 2 things that suck is the hook keeper, your line always gets caught in it but that's not a big deal and it's not very well valence so it will take some getting used to but if your a budget fisherman, I'd get this rod it's a good rod. 7.5/10. I had it parked with a lews but I took the reel off because it's a bad reel and put my curado dc on it for now.

Comments: Picked this rod up from a local tackle shop and wow, am I impressed. This thing compares to my 200$ rods easily. The blank is good, could be more sensitive, but for 80$ you can't beat it. The guides are solid, and the reel seat is light and honestly my favorite reel seat of any rod I have. Amazing price at 80 bucks. I don't know how Daiwa is making these sub 100 dollar rods so good, but i'm not complaining.

Comments:Just got the 7'6 heavy. Fantastic frog rod, good pop, no issues at all. Lighter then my 7'3 med hvy. Absolutely insane rod. Good cork. Paired with a Tatula CT in the 8:1:1 gear ratio, 50lb FINS windtamer Pitch Black. Nice "phantom" style of rod. The cork adds alpt of aesthetic. I can tell it will last a long time. Nicer, smoother cork, great grip. Only $80 top! It compares good to my Steez and G.Loonis NRX.

Comments:I am a MASSIVE daiwa fan. I love all their reels, and use many of their higher-priced products (zillion, tatula, lexa, steez) to this day. I saw this rod, and I was looking for a new frogging rod, read the reviews, it looked legit for $80. Picked it up, and in a few days, it arrives! I immediately put on an 8:1:1 Tatula CT and J-Braid and throw out the frog, first cast? I hook an absolute slaunch. But, the only issue is that it was in a bunch of thick arrowheads, which if you haven't fished in Florida, they're the most annoying thing you could ever imagine. Tough, abundant, and overall a pain in the butt. Although those were on, the rod got me a hefty hookset AND gave me the torque to flip the 6lb 8ozer out of the weeds and get her on shore. Caught on This rod, a Daiwa Tatula CT (new model) and 50lb Daiwa J-Braid x8. The frog I was using was a Booyah Pad crasher in Kuro Frog

Comments:Love this rod! Definitely my favorite rod. It's super light and has good sensitivity. Got the 7'3MH, using it for plastic worms and has decent cast range for its length. Worth for $80!

Comments:my rod just got here it is gorgeous the eyelids are fantastic and shipping only took 3 days 100% recomend this rod has a sensitive tip but a firm good backbone. thank you tackle ware house.

Comments:Downgraded from the old Procyon. The handle is way better, the split grip is def the way to go BUT the old Procyon has a exposed blank reel seat, this new one got rid of that. The old procyon has better fit and finish for sure and better guides. This isnt a bad rod at all, its quite nice, but I much prefer the quality of my older procyons, they were a steal. 7' heavy, frogging set up.
From: Joe: Ferndale, MI 9/4/20
Comments:The 7' Heavy is light and makes a fine frog rod.

Comments: Ibought this rod when it first came out for 80 dollars it is well worth the money it is light and sensitive for the money I will be buying more I own a lot of way more expensive rods but for the money this one here is well worth it don't hesitate try one for only 80 dollars you won't be disappointed
