Overview

Style, innovation, research, and passion come together in the birth of the Daiwa Zillion SV TW G Casting Reel. After 40 years of experience in magnetic braking systems, Daiwa has enhanced perfection with the SV Booster System, which is the heart of the Zillion SV TW G Casting Reel and utilizes a two-stage electromagnetic induction braking system that provides an ideal balance between maximizing casting distance and precision braking performance. This system is built with neodymium magnets to create a magnetic field that provides optimal braking power at the beginning and the end of the cast to prevent backlash, accurately control distance, and improve lure trajectory for unmatched casting performance. In addition to the SV Booster System, the Daiwa Zillion SV TW G Casting Reel is also equipped with Daiwa’s patented T-Wing System (TWS) that greatly reduces line resistance thanks to its wide aperture for increasing casting distance even further.

For the highest level of durability, ultra smooth retrieves, and powerful winding performance, the Daiwa Zillion SV TW G Casting Reel features HyperDrive Design, which is a DIGIGEAR with teeth that have been made larger than conventional gears to improve the strength in the rotation field for precise and comfortable winding. The HyperDrive Design also features a double support system on both sides of the pinion gear to prevent any loss of power or smoothness when under heavy loads. All of the advanced internal components of the Zillion SV TW G Casting Reel are supported by an ultra-durable high precision housing, Daiwa’s Ultimate Tournament Drag (UTD), and a Hyper Tough Clutch system to provide years of reliable use and smooth performance as well. Available in multiple gear ratios, the Daiwa Zillion SV TW G Casting Reel is a peak example of design, function, and innovation.

Features:
-SV Booster System
-HyperDrive Design
-Aluminum Frame and Sideplates
-T-Wing System (TWS)
-34mm G-1 Duralumin SV Spool
-Air Brake System
-Ultimate Tournament Drag (UTD)
-90mm Swept Handle

My Favorite Do-Anything Reel!I've always been a fan of both Shimano and Daiwa, and I was always a big fan of the Steez reels, but with this Zillion G that Daiwa created, it almost makes the Steez obsolete! I have 3 Steez reels and for the money, the Zillion performs just as well 95% of the time. Lightweight lures perform better on my Steez CT but anything 5/16ths and up, the Zillion will bomb with the correct rod and line setup. I have a 7:1:1 ratio on a 6' 10" Poison Adrena and its become my new dedicated jerkbait setup. Absolutely whips a 110 Jr. and I'm a HUGE fan of the clicking drag, especially when I have to back off and fight a larger fish when it makes sudden runs. I spooled mine with 10lb sunline sniper and I will rarely ever, ever get backlashes, unless I'm casting straight into wind, which I'll kick up the brakes a notch or 2 and it's back to business. Overall, if you're looking at dipping your toes into some higher end gear and have wanted to try a Daiwa, this is THE reel they make for the $$$. You can get these suckers for $270 straight from Japan off eBay but no warranty so do what you will with that info.

Wow.By far the smoothest reel I've ever fished with. If this reel is in your price range do it. I bought one to try and since then have added several more. I've been fishing a long time and this is my favorite reel yet. Smooth, long casting, lightweight, tough, and the clicking drag is a pretty cool feature.

Comments: Amazing reel. So smooth out of the box that I actually thought there was something wrong with the drag. This thing never backlashes, and that's without touching the tension knob. Diawa says it's never-adjust, so I figured I'd start out that way and so far it works; all I have to do is tweak the external brakes a bit to account for different lure weights. Right now I have it spoiled with PLine copolymer, which is kinda like putting no-name gas in a Maserati. But it was what I had laying around and so far so good. But this bad boy needs some quality FC so I'm probably gonna re-spool with some InvizX 15 lb for all-around fishing. I already started a fund for a second one. Kinda pricey but oh man is it worth every penny. I have Curados and this is in another league. Also helped me make the switch to straight FC because the T-Wing allegedly not friendly to braid-to-leader knots. I love straight FC! No more leader tying hassles. I still have a few applications where I will use braid-to-leader but I have dedicated reels for that.

Comments: I highly recommend this reel! Do your homework and compare it to any other reel in this class. I use all 3 speeds... 6.3:1 deep and mid cranks, spinnerbaits, 7.1:1 vibrating jigs, burning hard baits, 8.5:1 topwater hard baits, pitching soft plastics, and buzz bait. 100 percent legit!!

From: T Lain: Lake Havasu City 1/5/23

Comments: The daiwa zillion sv tw g model outcasts my curado bfs throwing a 3/16 oz rapala lure. Not a true bfs comparison, but I do have two identical rods and identical line put on both setups. I simply could not get the bfs to cast as far as easily. Both combos retrieve similarly smooth given the price disparity of nearly $150. Unless you are using micro sized panfish/trout baits, this daiwa reel casts very well and is a joy to fish. Simply a great bass reel. I use the 6.3 : 1 ratio model and flourocarbon line. Daiwa released a legendary reel with this model that will be the next benchmark in baitcasters....

Comments: So if you're here then you're probably looking to get your first "higher end" reel. Understand that you will not be disappointed with almost any reel (from a respected company) that's roughly 350 dollars. This Zillion is an incredible reel and butter smooth. If you have tatulas and are looking to upgrade then you'll love this. If you're an Abu, Lews, or Shimano guy looking to try out a Daiwa then don't worry you'll enjoy this reel.

From: Unknown: Central Florida 9/11/22

Comments: 1st know this .. I'm a Shimano guy .. but now and then I do like to dip my toes into the Daiwa pool .. I've a few Tatulas and enjoy them .. I prefer Daiwa spinning reels over Shimano .. I digress - This zillion reel is absolutely amazing !! I can see why it got so much hype & love .. it's truly deserved .. it's like they took all the meaningful tech and discarded the fluff and made this zillion sv tw .. it's damn near perfection as far as baitcasters go .. the price point is spot on .. could have went $400 and sold just as many .. I'm loving the drag clicker .. hook a fish and it feels like a totally different experience - wink - Highly recommend this reel to those that enjoy higher end gear .. betting you'll buy more then 1 .. I will

Comments: This is one incredible reel. I kid you not, it feels as refined as a Daiwa Steez or a Shimano Antares. There is nothing that compares in this price range. I own a Shimano Bantam MGL that I love, but it's without a doubt the 2nd place to this reel. There is no play anywhere in the Daiwa Zillion, it's amazing how solid it feels while still being so light. I would even go so far to say it feels more solid than the Steez SV TWS. That is because of the spool release button. While the Steez SV TWS and the Steez SV TW LTD (almost the same reel construction-wise) in my opinion are Daiwa's best allround baitcaster ever made, they both have a less solid feeling spool release button. It's "mushier" on the Steez than it is on the 2021 Zillion. The Steez is still a better reel because it manages to swallow vibrations better, but the fact that a reel at this price points rivals a flagship reel says a lot. I don't care if you've always preferred Shimano or Abu or Lew's. ..I don't see how this reel would be disappointing to you. It might, and very likely so, be the reel that wins you over. The best reel under $500 (or whatever the Steez might cost). This is a must buy.

Comments: This new Zillion SV TW G has really impressed me this year, everything was done correct on this reel and is by far my favorite. It's a Jack of all trades reel. If you want to be able to easily cast, skip, flip, punch all really well, then this new Zillion SV TW G is the reel you must purchase! I don't care to go to in depth on what it brings to the table, but it's smooth and extremly refined, I like it more than the new Mentanium, I own, so that's saying something. If you've never tried a Daiwa, this one will be the one to get, and  if casting distance is your thing, wait on the new blacked out Zillion TW HD 1000. Daiwa makes their reels more specific than shimano does.

From: Ryan: Texas 3/13/22

Comments: Zillion sv tw g, these are great all around baitcasters. They are not comparable to a 5 or 6 hundred dollar reel. And yet they do perform better than their price. Reels are much more technique specific than at any other time in the fishing industry. With advanced production technology reels get better. All manufacturers produce a wide lineup to allow for every budget of fishermen. Choose the best you can afford, then go fish. Shimano utilizes primarily mechanical breaking, Daiwa uses magnets as their preference but both are great. Personally I like a synchronized level wind for a large wide spool (drag issues while fighting a fish) and this size reel doesnt need this option. Any manufacturer with a 3 hundred dollar plus reel wants repeat customers, so most are reputable. I've owned more than a hundred reels throughout the years and they keep getting better. This reel is no exception try one and go fishing.

From: Unknown: 3/6/22

Comments: WOW. I don't even know what to say. I've been a shimano guy my whole life and this reel blows all of my shimano out of the water. These feel solid. Not only to they look futuristic it casts a freaking mile. A little pricey but it really doesn't get better than this bad boy trust me on this I probably have 40+ reels and this one is one of the nicest I've ever used. The lews pro ti is the only thing I own that even comes close to this reel second  would be my diawa JDM HLC.

From: Kyle: New York 2/24/22

Comments: They obviously know what they were doing and were willing to sacrifice the stability of the brake dial to accomplish everything else which is damn near perfection. I guess I'm still willing to reset the brake dial every cast to keep this reel in my hands.  I'm sure you'd have to sacrifice the rigidity, casting performance, smoothness, overall reel weight, or something else to reconfigure the silly mag brake dial. Almost perfect. You still got me until Shimano can get Met DCs & Antares DCs to sub 7 ounces.

From: Unknown: 10/22/21

Comments: This 2021 new zillion is really amazing, the braking system is amazing and the throwing distance is satisfactory, and the setting is adjusted to 7 or above in the case of zero adjustments. Basically any bait does not need to use fingers, 4-6 is super far.

From: David: San Francisco, CA 10/22/21

Comments: High quality reel. Brass main gear and tight tolerances all around. Retrieve is silky smooth and solid. Casting distance is very good, but the stand out is how little effort it takes. Like all Daiwas, especially SV reels, it needs to be adjusted correctly to get the most out of it. I have the breaks set to 4 but most find 6 the best. And the zero adjuster, I adjust it lol.

From: Marty: Australia 9/24/21

Comments: This is an awesome reel. Great casting distance and even better control. With some baits there isn't a need to even thumb the spool. With the people saying it backlashes out of the box they probably aren't tuning the reel.

From: Jace: Unknown 8/29/21

Comments: These new zillions, and the 2020 zillion 10.0 are amazing, far out-perform any dc for any type of skipping, zinging under cover, anything. Yes, a dc will probably cast farther if you sling overhand casts everytime; but thats not practical for fishing especially tourneys or days where you cast over 1000 times.  The sv tw is the best spool and brake on market IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE THEM AND FOLLOW DAIWAS INSTRUCTIONS. So with these, you control everything with the brakes. You dont set the spool tension to a slow fall; you set the spool right on the edge of where theres no play and you can just barely tell the fall is slightly less than gravity. Then you set the brakes to 7 or 8, Cast and adjust as needed. In my opinion, you should never be going over 12 or 13, and thats only when casting in bad wind etc. you can pretty much leave the spool tension even when changing baits, unless its something just crazy heavy. I keep mine on 8 by default. I Turn it to 10 if im skipping, whatever. Thats why the new tatula sv tw has a zero adjust on the spool tension, you aint really sposed to mess with spool tension on an sv. Set tension when you rig your rod, and leave it. Use brakes. The thing will never backlash unless you make it backlash. Ive even had errant casts that hit a dock pole or something when im not ready no thumb on spool, and it still didnt backlash, maybe just got 1 lil strand of fluff or something. I swear my slx dc backlashes more than this, and it rarely does. The only time ive ever backlashed an sv tw kinda badly is on a really bad skip, and it wasnt even a catastrophic backlash, Id say it was more of a bad fluff..not one where there were tangled loops i had to pick out or anything.

From: Dave: Unknown 6/20/21

Comments: I have about 5 Shimano baitcasters and about 6 Diawa's and they are both really good for their own purpose. I do own the Diawa Zillion 2021 and it's the smoothest casting reel I have ever used and this includes top-of-the-line Shimanos. This Zillion is almost impossible to get a backlash, I could throw this reel at a brick wall and it would not backlash. This reel is absolutely incredible, it's light as a feather and casts effortlessly. Shimano will have their hands full trying to top this one especially at this price point.

From: Unknown: 6/20/21

Comments: this reel is on par with the svtw, Smooth and casts like a dream, mine is set up on a st croix victory rod with #12 tatsu and a weightless senko and it casts. i find myself reaching for this reel over my svtw and my A... 1 Thing to note, The placement and the way this reel sits might feel a little off, I palm my reels so i had to find a rod what worked best with this reel, just something to keep in mind. I get zero back lashs and it casts farther then any of my other reels and it does it effortlessly!! I will be getting more as soon as they come back in stock
From: Olman: South West Florida 6/12/21

Comments: The new Daiwa Zillion SV TW G is an AMAZING bait casting reel. Everything about it screams quality and it is simple to cast without backlashing.

From: Unknown: 6/7/21

Comments: backlash, backlash, and another major BACKLASH!!! My Shimano DC never backlashes. don't even have to thumb the spool. This reel is hard to cast. first cast out of the box had backlash. I kept cranking until the reel handle seized up. Had a birds nest the size of the moon. I tried to pick backlashes out but finally had enough! took zillion reel off and threw it in the drink. Put my Shimano DC back on and kept on casting with no backlashes!!

From: Sam: Minnesota 5/30/21

Comments: Didn't need this reel whatsoever, but it's a new Daiwa and my Daiwa Anonymous sponsor was of no help in resisting the temptation. Paired with Dobyns DX744C FH HP (7'4" Heavy Full Handle) Will be used mostly for dragging jigs, swimming jigs, flipping, texas rigs.........in the range of 3/8-3/4 oz total weighted baits. I threw it side by side with the Steez SV TW that was paired with 7'4" Medium Dobyns Champion Extreme. Used a 5" stick bait with 1/8 oz weighted wacky ring on both setups........just a different rod action between the 2 setups. The rod with the Steez will obviously load that rig better, yet the Zillion still casted this rig a good distance.....not Steez distance, but satisfactory. I wish I had the same rods to compare with a variety of baits, but I'm ok without apples to apples. This thing has no competition for $350. None. The new Metanium MGL for 70 bucks more will cast a teeny farther if you take the time to dial-in the settings. I have not time & patience for that Shimano tediousness anymore. Yeah, the Bantam MGL is tank of a reel, but I prefer light and balanced vs heavier and balanced. Been using Shimanos and Daiwas for 25 years. Still use them both, but I don't think I'll be buying anymore of Shimano's new releases. I'm very satisfied, and if your new to this price bracket, you're going to cherish this thing.

From: Dan: Illinois 5/19/21

Comments: Super happy with this reel, casting distance isn't any different than my shimanos but the refinement and smoothness is equal if not better. Been a shimano fan for along time but daiwa has impressed me with this reel. Love the clicking drag!

From: John: Arkansas 4/2/21

Comments: Very nice reel. I've been a big Daiwa and Shimano user for years, and I like both brands near equally, can't go wrong with either brand, just personal preference. Shimano has always felt better as I have very small hands. I've used Tatula's since they came out, and the TWS reels, including CT have always felt big and wide. The Tatula 100 was much smaller but just lacked a wow factor. This Zillion is slightly more compact yet. Shimano still wins for ergonomics. I still feel the TWS and Zero Adjuster are mostly a gimmick, my Shimano's do not lack any distance compared, but overall l'm enjoying this Zillion very much.

From: Leonard1981: Iowa 3/31/21

Comments: This reel is way too good for what its worth. I'm surprised it's not priced like the steez for how good it is. I became a daiwa junkie last year and finally worked up the courage to purchase one of these. Went to my local lake which is choked with grass during the warmer months. The only thing they bit was a weightless senko. Paired this puppy with Brent erhlers finesse casting rod. Casted a weightless senko a country mile with no effort. Extremely smooth and what a beautiful reel. Handled three pounders with ease drag is amazing

From: Ryan: Monroe, LA 3/28/21

Comments: Insanely smooth. Going to outfit myself with a few now. Don't tell anyone but honestly feels better than my Steez CT SV.

From: Jacob: Orange County, CA 3/19/21

Comments: Received my Zillion the other day so I took it out for a test run at the Double L , man was I surprised on how buttery smooth it is as I was casting my four inch @ 1/16 oz Texas rig a country mile!
