Overview
Utilizing innovative construction technologies and high-performance hardware, the Lew's Team Signature Series Casting Rods bring tournament-grade operation to your favorite fisheries. They start with Lew’s proprietary multi-layered graphite blanks with FOCAS Resin Concentrated Blank Technology. This new process delivers 75% greater tip strength than traditional blanks while still maintaining a lightweight profile for increased hook-up power and a manageable feel when casting a line from launch to weigh-in.

Comments: I have the 7'3"MH "Bladed Jig" rod. This specific rod is a tad fast for me (for using a chatterbait), but still fishes great as a general purpose medium heavy. The guides seem to be an improvement, Seaguide makes a decent product. For me, this rod has become a jig/Texas rig rod, and also works great for throwing mid-sized Keitechs (3.8-4.8) rigged weedless. I would for sure recommend this rod, overall, a good, fair-priced purchase. Lew's has unbeatable customer service, so for the freak chance that you do get a defective product or break a rod, they will take care of you quickly. Lew's is right at the top of the list for customer service in my opinion.

Comments: I ordered the signature series Andy Montgomery 6'9 heavy for skipping jigs. I was impressed at first with the light weight and accuracy, but while using the rod on my first outing, the rod snapped in half between the fore grip and the first guide, right in the meat of the rod, while setting the hook on a 2 pound bass. The rod was replaced by Lews without any issue, but I don't have any confidence that this wouldn't happen again. I don't care if it's a $190 rod or if Andy Montgomery's signature is on it. Once Lews started selling rods at Walmart, that told me everything I needed to know about the quality of Lews rods.

Comments: Lew's Team Signature Series Casting Rods Just used this rod over the weekend and have to say I'm impressed. I tried skipping with a baitcaster setup before and, well, we all know how that usually works out. I put 20lb fluorocarbon on the Lew's SP reel with the 7'1" Andy Montgomery Skipping rod and caught several nice bass on my first day trying it. I recommend the 7'1" if you are at least 5'10" tall. The 6'9" if you're shorter. Andy is 6'3" so he uses the longer one. There's a great video on YouTube with Edwin Evers and Andy on skipping jigs under docks like a pro. I used Andy's skipping jig(1/2oz), and the rage bug which is his favorite trailer and I was getting it under docks farther than I ever could. Even further than a spinning rod and stickworm. I actually had to get on someone's dock to free my jig because I went so far under and got hung up on a cross beam I couldn't even see. If you get the Lew's SP reel with this rod I recommend setting the reel to 9 on the braking system, tightening the tension knob to were the b ait will slowly fall to the ground and not overrun very much when it hits the ground and adjust to your preference from there. I picked the 8.3:1 speed because I can reel it in faster, make more casts, and catch up to the fish better because a lot of times the fish grab the bait and come right at you. Higher speed picks the line up faster and can help get a better hookset. This rod really does have the right action for skipping. Enough tip to give the bait momentum to skip, short enough for good accuracy, and plenty of backbone to get solid hooksets. Hope this helps someone.

Comments: I have been trying lots of different brands of casting rods trying to find that one that fits . Well after many tries I found it ! 7'1 Heavy I can do so many different things with this one rod . Hook setting power is insane, backbone is strong. I would say perfect action and power . Home Run , A+ , amazing rod . Plus the Winn grip handle....Sweet.

Comments: This rod blew me away!! It is incredibly light the winn grip feels extremely comfortable. It's not the typical TP1 Speed stick version it's much thinner and feel really good on hand. I ordered the 7'2" Heavy for Jigs. It has a very nice parabolic tip with an amazing back bone I will definitely be buying more it's a light, strong and a nice looking rod!
