Overview
Specifically designed for trophy-caliber musky, pike, and largemouth bass, the St. Croix Premier Series Musky Casting Rods deliver an unprecedented amount of power for casting tennis-shoe size lures, driving hook-sets, and fighting large predatory fish. They are made with St. Croix’s high quality SCII carbon, which is a mid-modulus graphite fiber with a higher strain rate than most other common fibers on the market that provides the perfect balance of lightweight, durability, and sensitivity.
Outfitted with premium componentry from top to bottom, the St. Croix Premier Series Musky Casting Rods feature large double foot Kigan Master 3D guides with slim, strong aluminum-oxide rings and black frames that help increase line flow for longer casts and provide plenty of space for anglers using braid to leader connection knots. They also feature Fuji reel seats for a rock solid connection between your rod and reel, as well as, premium-grade full cork handles for all day casting comfort. Finished with two coats of slow-cure finish Flex-Coat, the St. Croix Premier Series Musky Casting Rods are built for anglers who are looking for the fish of 10,000 casts.

Comments: I just purchased the 8' rod rated for 3/4 oz. to 3 oz. baits. I have been struggling with tendinitis in my elbows and found rods like this with large foregrips help take the pressure off my elbows when working lures back to the boat. This rod is a broomstick and is very stiff for its weight rating. It is much stiffer than my Dobyns 795 rated 1 to 5 oz. and my Loomis SWBR955C rated 2 to 6 oz. The build quality looks high and the finish is nice. I love the double footed guides which are rock solid. I was somewhat concerned that it only has 8 guides but thought that might be useful for braid to leader connections. Unfortunately for me, the rating is way off and this is going back. I can't see using a broomstick to throw baits baits in the 3/4 to 3oz size, it just doesn't load properly so it's more work to throw, less accurate and you lose some casting distance. It would probably work better for stuff that is a little heavier.
