Overview
Furthering Daiwa’s high-end line of reels, the Daiwa Steez A TW Casting Reels stand alone in-terms of quality and all-out performance. Precisely machined with an aluminum frame and side covers, the Daiwa Steez A TW Casting Reels feature Daiwa’s famed T-Wing System, which increases casting distance by allowing line to flow freely through the wide top section, reducing the normally sharp angles and friction that slows line as the spool empties.
Built to last, the Daiwa Steez A TW Casting Reels are fitted with CRBB (Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings) that are made from specially treated stainless steel for extended life in harsh environments. Backed by Daiwa's ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag), the Daiwa Steez A TW Casting Reels deliver unmatched stopping power and evenly dispersed pressure, giving anglers the confidence to handle trophy fish. Complete with a swept handle for increased control, the Daiwa Steez A TW Casting Reels leverage advanced technologies to give anglers the absolute best performance – bar none.

Comments: Caught on sale and paired it with my Evergreen Combat Jackhammer rod. Very smooth reel and like the construction and features. Very good service from tackle warehouse fellows.

Comments: Best casting reel out there. Smooth, no noise, and casts crazy far if you need to. The Steez braking system makes it virtually impossible to backlash without intentionally trying too. It's great for all applications particularly skipping. A warning if you buy one you'll have to have more.

Comments: This reel is awesome I got it to pair with my chatterbait rod. I needed a reel to make long cast on some big flats and this reel did that for me .

Comments: excellent reel.bought it too put on one of my custom built rods for medium cranks, was not disappointed, very palmable.light weight, balanced precisely.I am looking at the faster gear ratio now for another of my custom built, amazing value, great customer service

Comments:I use it for both bass and redfish. Great reel; I use Daiwa exclusively for freshwater. Pricey, but once you handle the Steez it is hard to fish with anything else. I have three different versions of Steez casting reels and will definitely buy more.

Comments:Have had this reel for bout six months and use it every time to fish whether it be fresh or saltwater. It is a very nice reel and buttery smooth. Casts further than my tatula sv, and zillion sv. More controlled on casting and handles lighters baits better. The drag is crazy smooth for a bait caster as well and much better than the tatula and better than my zillions. Haven't had too much drag pulled from this reel but like the drag clicker since I can actually hear it on fish from saltwater taking drag. Have it paired with custom NFC MH bass rod and it's perfect for all around from 1/4-3/4oz lures. And inshore it's on custom scIV inshore blank and throws weightless jerk shads to 1/4oz jig heads absolutely perfect. Cast controls are smooth and very consistent braking with very low backlash even into wind. Looking to get another to replace my zillion.

Comments:Very disappointed...purchased this for brack water Jack's and snook... every thing was great..until one day I went to clean it and the spool started corroding and then noticed the rear reel seat had chipped and cracked...
Sent it in and daiwa replaced it with a new in box reel. 1 week later and the new one is doing the same thing..called daiwa and they said send it in..great customer service but the reel... and with the price increase..deff will be looking in to other options. Reel does cast great. On par with my sv tw steez and is just as smooth. Note I fish everyday and the reel comes off the rod and gets sprayed down after use.

Comments:I caught a 30lb Redfish on a bucktail jig with this reel. It handled it incredibly well. It casts great and feels very solid and smooth. Expensive, but you can feel the value.

Comments:Reel is amazing. It casts far, you'll get no backlashes, it can cast light lures, but the Daiwa Tatula SV TWS is just as good, if not better. Save your money and get the Tatula. You won't be disappointed.

Comments:Uh, yeah...This thing is by far the best reel I've ever thrown.I have it paired with an Alpha Angler Clutch and spooled with 12# Sniper. It casts a swimbait a mile into the wind with no backlashing. The deep spool is a huge plus and it's super SMOOTH.I was very hesitant to shell out the cash, but I'm glad I did.I need at least one more.

Comments:A reel worthy of the Steez name. Originally purchased the 6:4:1 model and now I am picking up 2 more, both the 7:1:1. These reels are everything I want from a reel. Smooth, easy and far casts with no backlashing, very good ergonomics, and an aluminum frame. Magnesium is nice but it's more expensive on average and they scratch and dent very easily. You need to own this reel, it's ridiculous, in a good way

Comments: Wow! This reel blows away my Abu Garcia Rocket. Smooth as glass on the retrieve. When I cast, I can expend considerably less energy and easily outcast my strongest swings with my Rocket. Has to be at least 15-20 yards on average. Thanks Daiwa!

Comments:Love the reel, but hate the clunky gaudy knobs. I like the knobs on the Steez SV alot better. Why put ugly knobs on such a high end reel???? Come on Daiwa!!!

Comments:First impressions: I recently bought this reel in the 6:4:1 ratio for chatterbaits/reaction baits on top of a Megabass Destroyer Daemos. I think this reel is actually smoother than my Metanium MGL. SUPER comfy palmable frame, smooth drag, smooth retrieve and casts, not as consistent on casting distance as the 'Tanium BUT overall I prefer the wag this reel fishes. I have been using 14lb Sunline Sniper and it has been very nice with performing with line management also. I was on the fence about getting the model A or the SV. In my opinion, the SV variant is VERY brake heavy. I have a Zillion SV which is like cheating when skipping baits but if you know how to use a baitcaster well, go with the A for the deeper spool and furthur casts. I already don't have to stop the spool with my thumb, the reel just automatically stops on the end of the cast with no over runs(which has been the rave of the SV Steez). All in all, great reel that will last forever, matches great for looks and feel with a MB Destroyer rod.

Comments: I finally decided to pick up the Steez A and I'm sure glad I did. It casts like a dream, very smooth retrieve, no backlashes, super solid and very light weight. I was stuck between the "A" and the "SV" steez but decided to go with the A because of the deeper spool. However, this reel can cast light lures with no problems. Very versatile. Spend the extra money and get this reel. You will not be disappointed.

Comments:This reel is amazingly light and smooth. I always wanted the steez and finally decided to go with this one because of the length of the handle and the TWS. I pair it with the Megabass USA FMJ model and it cast really nice and far. I cast it with weightless senko and it was amazing how far it cast. I didn't need to thumb it casting weightless senko and no basklash at all. I would recommend if your willling to spend the money.

Comments:One of the best reels I have ever owned. I tend to pick up my pole with this reel on it over my Antares from time to time. Light weight, casts like a dream, and just so smooth on both the cast and the retrieve. I would say it is comparable to that Aldebaran, just with a bigger spool, a bit heavier (Not that any reel out there can be lighter than the Aldebaran) but still just awesome. Would recommend to anybody who can afford to pick up this reel. Daiwa did it this time.

Comments:Long story: Reel is so smooth and it throws my 3/8oz chatterbaits and jigs like a dream. Can't speak to the Steez SV TW... but this Steez A does a great job of getting my 1/8oz t-rigs out there with minimal effort. Plus when you set the hook HARD there is no question the frame is ridged. On top of all that the frame is just the right size when you palm it, you can fish with it all day and never think twice about it. Short story: If you can afford this reel get it. You won't want to put it down. I wish I had one on every rod I own!

Comments:This is by far the most comfortable Steez frame, in hand, that has ever been built... like last year's model frame. I hope Daiwa keeps this exact frame forever. I wish Daiwa would make the TWS line guide same color as the trim (Gear ratio) of the reel. 7.1 is red, it would be nice to have a RED TWS line guide to match. Great feeling reel. I will say, no bearings under the knobs on this model. I've had all model Steez and never had one without 2 bearings per knob. It's still super smooth though. It would probably be $50 more, if there was bearings under the knobs. I give a 9.5 out of 10. If knobs had bearings, it'd be a 10+ out of 10.... great reel!!!
