Overview
Built specifically for techniques that require blistering speeds, the Daiwa Zillion 10.0 TW Casting Reels are well equipped for tasks like flipping, pitching, burning a lipless crank, and lifting frog fish out of heavy cover. When Daiwa set out developing a 10.0:1 gear ratio reel, performance was a prerequisite, which is why they chose to expand their high-quality Zillion platform. Fitted with an SV spool made from lightweight, yet ridged G1 Duralumin, the Daiwa Zillion 10.0 TW Casting Reels provide easy spool start up and long casting with the reduced backlashes.
Sitting on an aluminum frame and side plates, the Daiwa Zillion 10.0 TW Casting Reel comes equipped with Daiwa’s TWS T-Wing level wind technology for easy line releases and bolstered casting performance. An UTD (Ultimate Tournament Drag) system and swept 90mm handle provides the torque and stopping power necessary for an extremely high-speed reel. Satisfying the need for speed, while maintaining a superior quality, the Daiwa Zillion 10.0 TW Casting Reel is ideal for techniques that demand both.

Comments: As with all reels in the Daiwa Zillion line, this reel is one of the best reels made. I own three Zillion's including this one and they are by far my favorite reels. The Daiwa Zillion 10 is special in that it's super fast. I recommend this reel for fishing buzz baits or other topwater where you may need not only a fast retrieve, but also the ability to catch up to a fish quickly after it smashes your bait and puts a lot of slack in your line. This reel also performs optimally when fishing heavy cover and in times when maximum control is needed in the blink of an eye to drag large bass out of heavy cover. In contrast, I would not recommend this reel for fishing crankbaits, as it is clearly too fast and was not designed for such methods. In conclusion, after extensive field testing I give this reel a "10 out of 10"!

Comments: This real is one of the finest reels, that no one really knows about! 10.0 speed! Daiwa quality, they've been around for quite some time now, I wanted to try one out, I know I have three of them. I always say, if I needed a slower retrieve, I reel slower! Try reeling a 5.4 faster, you get my drift. I strapped it on my Daiwa Steez,Texas rig plastics, crank baits, my go to Rod absolutely! If you're looking to buy a real that can handle everything, do yourself a favor, buy this one! Love the company, they've always handled any issues I've had with their products, with professionalism, and expedient shipping service.

Comments: This is one of my favorite reels. This reel competes with my Steez. It's tough, casts extremely well though I mostly use it for pitching and flipping so distance isn't a factor. The operation is buttery smooth and it balances well with longer/heavier action rods that tend to be tip heavy. Not sure of the complaints below, I've no problem with the 90mm handle. Not sure why the guy wants a bigger spool if pitching/flipping...? How far exactly are you pitching to need a bigger spool?

Comments: This reel has the fast retrieve, which makes it attractive. Personally, I'd have added a true stacked drag to increase the drag poundage. The reel handle is identical to the Tatula Type R, which leads me to believe Daiwa was sorta dumping parts. The grips of the handle are cheaply made and bushed with simple poly. One bearing is included with each grip. The spool is excellent but for the money paid, I'd like to see more aluminum in the construction. It casts well but could've used a slightly larger spool. I intend to use it for flipping and pitching.

Comments: Beautiful aesthetically, but a little disappointed with the ergonomics of the reel. Bought it for a jig reel, casting football jigs in deep water for smallies. Want to be able to take up line quick. My big gripe with this reel is the handle and grips are WAY too small, if you are making a 10 speed reel, you have to assume people are going to use it for Froggin, Flipping, etc. Why on earth they went so tiny with this, IDK. Again, its a super sexy color and looks great on Destroyer Rods, but I would prefer something with a bigger grip and handle.

Comments: I got this reel for frogging, and it has literally changed the game for me. My hookup percentage has increased exponentially. I am just not missing and losing fish like before. I took this to Texas this year and did nothing but frog fish for a week in thick pads with fish from a pound to seven and a half, it handled everything with flying colors! It looks fantastic and it performs better than any frog setup I have used. It may be my favorite baitcaster, and I have many many many to compare it with.
